The next morning, Bella rushes to school, not caring if Gabby has a ride or not. What the youngest Swan didn't know was that after she pulled away from her home, Edward was pulling in, ready to take his...girlfriend to school. Gabby grabs her bag and walks to the front door, thinking the red truck is going to be waiting for her.
She, of course, is wrong. She raises an eyebrow at the pale teen before her. He smirks and waves her over from where he was leaning against the passenger side door. She walks through the dew covered grass, not caring about the grass getting stuck to her old black converse.
"Your chariot awaits, m'lady." He smiles before opening the passenger side door.
Gabby blushes and slides into the seat, putting her bag on the floor. He makes sure her full body is inside the car before closing the door behind her. After walking around the back of the car, he hops into the driver's seat and looks over at her. She glances up at him after fastening her seatbelt. He smiles and starts the engine before pulling away from the house.
They drive for a few minutes before Edward finally builds up his courage. Taking in a deep, unnecessary breath, he reaches over and gently lays his hand on her knee. She shivers slightly at the feeling of his cold hand on her leg. She glances over at him before laying her hand on top of his, lacing their fingers together.
He smiles as he watches the road before him. The car stays completely quiet on their ride to school. Despite Gabby always being in silence, she knows this is a comfortable silence between them. They don't need to say, or sign, anything to be around each other. When Gabby looks back out the window to enjoy the view, he removes his hand from under hers before flipping it so he can hold her hand properly.
Never looking away from the window, her face flushes as she holds his hand a little tighter. Edward pulls up to the school a few minutes later and he parks in his normal parking spot next to his family. He lets go of her hand to turn off the engine before turning in his seat toward her. Gabby unbuckles her seatbelt before looking at the male beside her.
"You ready for everyone to stare at us?" He asks, watching her.
She takes in a deep breath before nodding and grabbing her bag. He steps out of the car and walks around to open her door. As he does, he can feel eyes on him from every direction. With his vampire hearing he can hear multiple girls' voices, wondering why the hell Gabby is getting out of his car.
He smirks to himself as he hears Jessica whisper to Bella.
"Is that your sister?" She asks.
"Yeah. What the hell is she doing with him?" Bella asks, anger seeping off of her.
Edward closes the door behind Gabby before wrapping an arm around her waist, ushering her toward the building. They begin to walk by his siblings' vehicles but she stops in her tracks and turns to him. He raises an eyebrow as she holds up a finger meaning 'one second'. He watches as she jogs over to Rosalie who is leaning against Emmett's Jeep, talking to him.
She looks up and smiles at the eldest Swan sister. Gabby smiles before reaching into her bag and pulling out her drawing notepad. Rosalie leans forward and looks at it as the deaf teen holds it out. Rosalie's eyes widen and she knows that if she had the ability to cry, she would be right about now. The beautiful drawing is of her and Emmett in their white outfits from her first day of school.
