"Put this on." He said, holding back his excitement.
"Okay... please don't murder me. I didn't tell anyone I was leaving." I replied, placing the blindfold over my eyes.
He laughs, oh his laugh.
"I promise I won't kill you," he reassured me.
I feel the car come to a stop and Matt's door open, he walks over to my side and opens the door. "Watch your step." He says, grabbing my hand and guiding me somewhere.
"Matt, where are we?"
"We're almost there."
"Fine." I sighed.
"Ok we're here!" He said, "Take off your blindfold."
I could hear the excitement laced into his words. I remove the blindfold to a white sheet hanging from a tree branch, a projector, fairy lights hanging above us and a picnic table full of my favorite treats.
"Matt, omg."
"Do you like it?"
"Do I like it? Matt I love it! I love it so much I could kiss you right now."
"Then why don't you?"
I walked towards him until our faces were inches apart.
"Not yet." I whispered, making him roll his eyes.
I sit down at the picnic table while Matt gets the movie set up.
"What are we watching?" I asked him.
"Why do you ask so many questions?"
"I'm just a curious person."
He laughs, "We're watching Teen Beach Movie, because I know it's your favorite."
I let out a little squeal.
"I think I deserve a kiss for all of my hard work."
"You sound like Chris," I say rolling my eyes, "besides, it's not even the end of our first date."
"What if we do a practice kiss?"
"Matt, shush the movies starting." I say, snuggling into him to watch the movie.
My phone starts to ring, it's Chris.
"Can you pause the movie for a sec? Your brother is calling me."
"Oh yeah for sure." He says, pressing pause on his laptop.
"Hello?" I say answering the phone.
"Hey where are you?" Chris says through the phone.
"I'm watching a movie right now, why?"
"Are you with someone?"
"No..?"
"Mhm, sure." He starts, "Are you 100% sure you aren't with someone we know?"
"Chris what is this about? Why does it matter if I'm with someone right now?" I said, starting to get annoyed with his questions.
"Just wondering. Oh yeah and by the way have you seen Matt?"
"Yeah I'm with him right now- oh shit."
"I knew it!!!"
"Chris, it's not what you think! We're just watching a movie!"
"You're a liar because Matt told me that he was going to take this girl that he likes on a date tonight. Nick and I helped set it all up."
"Oh my god. You knew?! And you didn't tell me?!"
"Uh sorry Lou my girlfriend is calling me. You have fun with your boyfriend!"
