47 : Break Up

"...she stopped talking about Vanessa as soon as she returned from Korea. She talked about you even if you two had only met once but she was so determined to to find you again. It was ridiculous but yeah, she's been waiting for you since that day. I'm glad that her dreams came true when I found her again, with you..."

"Sunyoung, are you even listening?"

I stopped replaying what Nahee told me over the phone in my mind when I heard Seungwon knocking his table. He sighed when I looked clueless after his long ass rant but he maintained cool by resting his back against the chair.

"What should I do, Sunyoung.. our big boss is going to fire me if you have these rumors with you." he showed me his desktop screen, some photos of me and Rosé during Christmas, in LA and when were back from hiking. I don't have any idea who captured those pictures and why would they mind my business.

"We weren't doing anything extra. And everyone knows we're best friends."

"Yeah, best friends. At this point, people will not believe that you're with Hajoon. Damn, the contract will be such a waste.."

"Just break us up and end the contract. My girlfriend can pay you more than what you've received from this company. And I don't like  how the boss keeps threatening you this and that." I tried to convince Seungwon.

"I'm not worried about me, Sunyoung. It's you. Once I'm fired, you'll get a more annoying manager than me. Some manager who might not care about you at all and just take the order from the boss blindly. Aren't you worried?"

"Yeah, I understand. But to be honest, I don't really care anymore. I'm a bit tired of hiding and faking everything. I feel guilty for lying to my fans and to Rosé.. she's my girlfriend. Having to get usual to people talking about me with someone else, that must be so annoying for her. What should I do now, Seungwon?" I swinged my legs back and forth, clearly clueless on what to do.

"Then what happens if you break up with Hajoon? You wanna announce to everyone you have a girlfriend?"

I slowly nodded before he sighed, "Kids in love.."

"Okay, maybe not. Maybe I will just try to give a hidden message. You know, something like, I'm not into men, maybe?"

"Yeah, it's up to you. It's not like it's not obvious, Sunyoung. What about Rosé? Is she planning to do the same?"

"She's been waiting for us to be official since long ago. She knows the risks but she doesn't mind about them at all. I'm not sure what she will do next, but whatever she is going to do, I follow."

He smiled, looking at me as if he were my dad. "All this time I thought you were single, you actually have a girlfriend. You really like her, don't you? To think that you're willing to take the risk, she must be so special to you."

"She's my person, Seungwon. It was not easy for me to do this at first, because I think about her too. She has a big name in this country, even internationally. I didn't want her to lose everything just for me. But she keeps reassuring me that she won't lose anything as long as she has me. I was scared if she'd regret it but later I learnt, her love is so much bigger than I've ever known."

"That's so cute. You both are so in love and I hope nothing will come between you two. Maybe I can help you with the break up thing. But, just in case I got fired, you will have to make sure you can stand the annoying manager, okay?" he sat straight again and looked at his computer.

"Seriously? How will you do that?"

"I'll just ask from Hajoon's side that we would like to end the contract. Maybe we should pay them some amount as the contract hasn't ended yet. And about these rumors and photos of you with her, I won't respond to any of them. Let's have a little chaos."
