Those piercing brown eyes.

That I recognized.

They belonged to one of my good friends that moved away last Summer, Nathan.

I saw him for the first time in months when he entered my Civics class during 2nd period. Almost no one knew who he was unless you came from my elementary school.

But no one knew him like I did.

We were practically unseparatable during basketball practice last year and were always there for each other in years past. We were always in the same classes, took part in the same clubs, and had the same interests. If he was there I happened to be there too.

But then, girls came and whisked him away with their 'charm' 'cuteness' 'skinny jeans' and make-up.

Then we grew apart slowly and slowly each day. It was alittle, no a lot, depressing seeing my friend grow closer with others and go farther, and farther away from me.

It would be no use to try to talk to him. I was simply no competition compared to those other girls.

He was simply to far gone.

Then 6th grade graduation came.

The last day of school was the last time I saw him.

Over the summer he never returned my texts.

The 1st day of Junior High was a disappointing day for me.
