Falah's point of view.I raise my head from the table, closing my face with my hands before sliding it down my face. I look at the scattered papers on my table and some on the floor. I lean back on my chair, swinging to look at the view of the city.
What was I thinking when I chose to study law? I have no love life, I neglected her for my job which means I have no date of getting married, not to talk of having kids.
I barely have time for myself, not to talk of other people unless if it's work related. I can't even remember the last time I spent a night with a woman, that seems like a fairytale.
I sigh, swinging back to my desk. I open one of the drawers, taking out a toothbrush I keep whenever I sleep in the office. I stand up and went inside the convenience. I brush my teeth and rinsed my face.
I take a hand towel to dab on my face when the door opened as I see Sultana. She gasps before tilting her head a bit. "Why are you here?" I chuckle, walking to my table.
"Started examining the papers, took coffee, slept off," I start explaining, throwing the towel at her and she catches it. "As usual." She mutters. "Then now." I sit on the chair, looking at how her shirt fit her perfectly and the way her skirt rested on her curvy waist like-
Get back to your senses.
I snap out of it, focusing back on her. "You'll kill yourself one day if you continue going down this road, you need to have a life you know." She arranges the papers while I leaned down to the floor from my chair to pick the ones on the floor.
"I know, do I have any messages or meetings?" She places the pile of papers on one side. "No, you practically have a free day."
"Practically?"
She raise her eyes to meet mine which seemed seductive to me. "Practically since you're meeting khaldoun, remember?" I groan, standing up. I hate talking to that man, he makes it harder than it should be.
I place my hands on my waist, standing by the windows and looking at the impeccable view. "I know you don't like talking to the man but he's a wealthy man and one of our top clients."
"He's not in the top ten or twenty." I remind her, hearing her footsteps nearing. "Then twenty one." I nod slightly as i turn my head to see her standing beside me.
She looks at me and smiled warmly. "Okay, you're right. When's the meeting?" I walk to the table to get my tie. "In two hours, how about I book a hotel room nearby for you so you can take your bathe and get ready for the meeting?"
I smile. "Sounds fantastic, what will I do without you?" I walk over to her, my arms extended. She laughs, walking towards the door before I reached to her. "Nothing, you should get on the road then." She starts scrolling her tab, opening the door and shutting it.
I sigh, hanging my head. Sultana has been my assistant for a year now. She was in an internship and retained her after I saw her capabilities. I was never one to hire an assistant because it sounded absurd to me even when Rashad, Habib and mansour advised me to.
Now, I don't what I'll do without sultana. She's professional and doesn't take advantage of the friendship we have while I'm being her superior.
I take my blazer and hung it over my shoulder, leaving the office.
*********
I turn off the shower, wrapping the towel around my waist and placing a small towel on my head. I open the door to see sultana. I stop at the doorframe of the bathroom in confusion as to why she's here. She turns to look at me.
