Falah's point of view.I stare at Alya who's lying down on the sofa on a phone call with her friend. She laughs, crossing her legs. I lean back on the chair, remembering how Rayyan kissed Alya yesterday and she indulged. It has never crossed my mind to even think of Alya in a sensual manner but it didn't please me to see her kissing him.
He obviously doesn't love her. He just wants to feed his ego by separating us which I could understand but I won't give him that pleasure. I don't know what they had or have, all I know is that I'll do my best to destroy it.
Alya has been by my side for a while now and she's reliable and she does it with no expectation. I wouldn't want rayyan to rain on my parade, from their conversation, no one rained on his parade.
"Okay, I understand where you're coming from but I will not be backing you up. Call ummu. Bye." She hangs up. "You seem as bored." I look at her. "Is it that obvious?" She sits up, pouting.
I nod, standing up. "I'm going for a drive, will you be tagging along?" She smiles, jumping to her feet. "Ofcourse."
"You seem to be in a jolly mood." She walks past me. "I am." She shrugs, heading up to her room as i followed behind her. Is it because of last night?
I take my car keys from the chest of drawers. I lightly rub my eyes before noticing how my head is getting less heavier. I walk out of the room as Alya walks towards me. "Could you help me with my necklace?" She turns her back to me, waiting for me to hook the necklace.
It's just a drive yet she has to get a necklace for it. I smile, putting on the necklace on her when I notice her vitiligo around her neck being more prominent. "Never mind. It's complicated and we're just going for a drive, there's no use." She uses her hand to cover the back of her neck.
"I got it."
"Seriously, I'm fine." She insists, walking away.
We get to the car and I start driving. "Where is our destination or goal rather?" Alya leans on the console. "No goal, no destination. Just drive around besides the cloudy weather makes it better." She nods in agreement. "How about we stop by at that mart to get some snacks for the drive?"
She suggests. "I agree, food for the road." I take the right turn into the mart. We get out of the car and head inside. I push the cart while she picks the things we want. "Are you interested in chips? Pringles? Lays?" I shake my head.
"I'll take one. What about chocolate? Toblero? Bounty? Snickers? Kit-kat? Twix? Mars? Dairy milk? Any?"
"Snickers." She picks the box of snickers and a box of dairy milk. "You're into salty more than sweet, huh?"
"Yes, sweet things aren't as good as salty." She nods. "Explains a lot." She mutters. "What?" She turns to look at me with a grin on her face. "You're not a sweet person." I pause, hearing the pun as she raises her brows to know whether i understood. I press my lips into a thin line before letting out a chuckle and she laughs. "I had to do it." She steps back when she bumps into a woman behind her. She immediately turns to face the woman wearing a brown abaya with her veil roughly thrown on her shoulder.
"Oh, sorry." The woman doesn't bother to answer her and pushes her cart away but Alya keeps her eyes on her. She doesn't take her eyes off the woman till she disappears. The grin she has on a face has disappeared. I furrow my brows in confusion. "Are you okay?"
She glances at me then continues walking forward. "I'm good." She takes a deep breath. Her switch up was too quick. Did the woman do something to her? Though, i didn't see anything. She turns to face me but avoids eye contact which is unlike her. "I'll go pay, you should check whether you'll be interested in other things."
"Look at me." She hesitantly looks at me to see her eyes tearing up. I pull out the car key and hand it to her. "I'll meet you in the car. I'll take care of this." She nods, walking away. Who's that woman? She changed the minute she saw her.
I pay for everything and head down to the car. I get into the car, hearing her sniffling. I shut the door before she glances at me for a second. She pulls her seatbelt and looks out of the tinted window. This was not the drive I was envisioning.
***********
"Falah. Your pills." I open my eyes, sitting up as she sits on the chair beside me, holding the cup of water. "Thank you." I take the pills and wash it down with the water. I glance at alya who still doesn't seem to be herself.
"Is there something you want to talk about?" She clasps her hands. "I'm fine." She gives me a tight lipped smile. "You're not fine." She shifts her gaze away from me. "I am." I set my cup on the table before pulling her chair closer to with a hand. "Alya, don't bottle your feelings up. Tell me what happened." The pack of pills suddenly became interesting to her.
"You remember the woman i bumped into?" I try to recall her face but nothing comes to mind. "Yes, i do". She nods, sniffling. "That was my sister, halima." I raise my brows for a split second in surprise. "She has kids and I don't know any of them. They are family and I don't know them." Her voice cracks before she stops, closing her eyes. "She saw me but she walked away like I was nobody. I wanted to say something and she knew but she just...walked away."
A tear rolls down her cheek. "What have I done to deserve this? Am I a terrible person? I have only two family members and your family. Why am I constantly being treated like the black sheep? The unwanted one? Why am I not loved? Why must there be a sacrifice for every person I want to love? Am I that hopeless?" She wipes her tears, her hands shaking as she raises her eyes to meet mine. Her eyes begging for an answer.
"Your sister based on what you told me chose to leave you and abba behind. She has made her choice and obviously, she is sticking by it. You have a caring father and brother who'll risk and do anything for you, that's all the people you need." I hold her trembling hands.
"My parents are there for you too. I am here, if it means anything. You're not hopeless, unlovable or a black sheep. You're appreciated and loved. You're someone everyone is lucky to have in his life." She sniffles as I use my thumb to wipe a tear on her cheek. "Thank you". Alya weakly responds with her cracked shaky voice. What can i do to make her feel better? What can i say? What? I dont like seeing her like this. I pause, realizing how badly i want these tears of hers to disappear as fast as it appeared. "Hey". I get her attention. "I wouldn't be here without you. You saved me and you're treating me. You're the one helping me get back on my feet. No one else and I caused you a lot of pain. I can't pay you back for what you've done but I'll do anything in my power to make you happy and this is apart of it."
I chuckle realizing how sincere I am. "Words can't describe you. I don't care if nobody sees it but I do. I don't want you to cry when someone else sees or thinks of you in a certain way. What matters is what I see, no one else matters. You're mine and you're perfect the way you are and I'm lucky to have you in my life. If you don't feel the same way, I understand and I hope to change your mind. I'll prove myself in whatever way to show you I'm worth your love and affection. To be frank, I'm desperate for it. I don't know what you did to me but I'm not complaining." She chuckles softly. "Sometimes i wonder how you are now the reason for my happiness, my everything."
I place my hand on her jaw, caressing her soft cheek with my thumb. My eyes bores into hers and i lean in to kiss her. My lips collided with her soft lips and with every second I kiss her, I could understand why Rayyan wants her.
I put my arm on her back as I hover over her. Her hand on my jaw travels to the back of my head before she leans back on the chair. I take off my shirt, throwing it somewhere. I slide my hands under her thighs before carrying her and placing her on the sofa. She lies on her back as i bury my head in her neck. Our ragged breathing filling the room. I feel her soft hands caressing my bare skin which drives me crazy.
I part her legs, having her wrap it around me while we kiss. I help her take off her dress, seeing her laced bra and panties. I leave bite trails down her neck as she moans. "You want to do this?" I whisper in her ear, feeling her grip tighten. "Yeah." I kiss her passionately before pulling down her underwear.
