Military Daughter

chapter 1

{Evelyn's Pov}
Today is the day I move from south Alabama to Woodbridge, Virginia. We were driving so it would take around 11 hours.

I hopped in the front seat of our mini van and put in my earbuds and started listening to music. The first song that played was Budapest by George Ezra.

Since it was a long drive I was dressed in comfy clothes- Nike sweatpants and a Vineyard Vines, coral, long-sleeved t-shirt. After a while I got tired and fell asleep.

*a few hours later still in the car

My mom woke me a told me we were stopping for lunch at Subway. We went inside and I ordered my usual. While we ate my mom was telling me about the school I would attend in the fall. It was mid-summer, so I had time to make friends before school starts.

"You will attend a school called Bishop Ireton Highschool" my mom said. I was going to be in 10th grade.

I just nodded my head even though I wasn't paying much attention. I usually made friends quickly because I had to move around a lot. I was used to it.

We finished up then headed back to the car. I plugged in my earbuds and decided to watch Netflix on my phone. I was on my second episode of The Carrie Diaries when I drifted off again into a sleep...

I wake up to my mom telling me we are here. I get out and look at my house, it's HUGE. We usually don't stay in a house this big.

I run in and find my room. My mom said I could paint it, but it's gray and I kind of like it. It would match lots of things. I look around and see that I have a balcony leading up to the roof in my room!

I go back downstairs and look around. My mom tells me to unpack some and get ready for supper. Tomorrow morning we are eating breakfast with Alyssa.

I unpack most of my clothes and put on some blue spandex and a t-shirt. Mom calls us down for supper. We have tacos. When we are done it's late so I get in bed and look on twitter. Soon I fall asleep.
