I quickly get Mahogany's attention and motion her towards the door. She grabs my wrist and leads me to another door. We rush outside.
"Oh my god that was so close." I huff. I can't believe I let her talk me into this. We could have gotten in so much trouble.
"Relax, admit you had a good time,"
She laughsIt was pretty fun. "What now?" I ask
"We are going to go back to the bus, get dolled up, and then we are meeting Tristen and Paris at a bar." Mahogany says.
"You may be able to pass as a 22 year old, but I'm only 15!" Is she crazy?
"Don't worry about that, let's hurry back to the bus." She says. We rush back and when we get back to the bus Matthew and Carter are missing. We go to our bunk to get changed.
Mahogany puts on a navy dress, with some black heels. Her fiery curls look amazing with her dress. She hands me a deep red dress. I put it on, deciding against makeup. It was fun for the dinner, but I prefer my natural skin. I slip on some red pumps and we head out.
I hope we don't have too much walking. As if my wish was answered, a car pulls up with Tristen driving and Paris in the front seat. We hop in.
"You girls look lovely," Tristen's strong accent in his voice as he talks. The conversation is light and humorous as we drive. Tristen is really funny. Soon we reach the bar and we all pile out of the car. The line for the entrance is long, but we all follow Tristen to the front and he whispers something to the bouncer, and he lets the four of us in.
This place is more like a club than a bar. We sit at a table and a waitress takes our drink orders. "First round on me," Tristen announces. Everyone gets drinks I've never heard of.
"I'll have a Sex on the Beach, and she'll have a Shirley Temple," Mahogany orders for me, which I'm grateful for. She new I would want a non alcoholic drink.
Soon our drinks arrive and the music gets louder. "We should dance," Paris says. She gets up and Mahogany and I follow her to the dance floor. I'm actually having a good time. I know I look ridiculous, but I don't really care. After what seems like hours we head over to the bar. There are a lot of guys and I start to feel uncomfortable. Mahogany is nowhere to be seen and all the attention is on me. A man who I am sure is older than 21 tries to buy me a drink, but I politely refuse. He doesn't seem to like that.
A guy grabs me by the arm and pulls me away from the older men and his face is a very familiar one. "Matthew what are you doing here?" I say.
"You can't wear a dress like that and not expect trouble, Bradley. What were you thinking? I've got to get you out of here," Matthew says, ignoring my question.
"What is wrong with my dress? I thought it was cute." I say.
"It's not that, it's a nice dress, but it's enough to give any guy a hard on just by looking at you," he whispers in my ear. I feel my cheeks flame. Before I can respond, Tristen walks over to us.
"Evelyn, I've been looking everywhere for you," Tristen smiles as he gets closer.
"How do you know Tristen?" Matthew asks me. He knows Tristen?
"She's here with me, actually," Tristen coolly replies. Matthew doesn't seem to like this information.
"Well we were just leaving, I'll take her from here." Matthew snaps. I don't want to offend Tristen, and leaving with Matthew isn't my first choice, but I am exhausted.
As I'm waving goodbye to Tristen, he takes my hand and kisses my knuckle. "Until next time," he says.
Matthew takes my hand and leads me out of the night club. Once we are outside I start to shiver. He notices and hands me his coat. "So you and Tristen?" He asks.
"What about me and Tristen?"
"So are you two, like a thing?"
"No," I laugh. "I just met him tonight, plus I'm pretty sure he's like twenty-something, why"
"It just seemed like y'all had something going on," he mutters. Okay?
"By the way, I'm sorry about stealing your underwear it was a joke, and I'm not really sure why I did it. It was a dick move.." Matthew says with his head down.
"It's cool." I respond. His apology is confusing me, and I'm not really sure if it's sincere.
I ignore him as we start to walk towards the bus. I hope it isn't a long walk. I took a car here and the drive didn't seem too long.
After a long walk filled with silence we reach the bus. I head up to my room and take off my dress and go straight to my bed and go to sleep, thinking about everything Matthew has said tonight. From the comment on my dress to his apology, and everything in between...
