Chapter 14

Documents on what all this was about were all over the place along with a few reports of Eveline as well explaining her true origins and purpose. So this was what you were infiltrating to stop? Ethan wondered how things turned for the worst but knew he'd get more answers later from either you or someone else.

Ethan knew he had to find his way out of these mines quickly to end this once and for all and finally bring you back home where it was safe and sound for you to recover. As your husband, it was his job to not only protect you but make sure you were happy, and he knew that you'd be both once you were home.

Making his way out Ethan found himself in a small 'lake-like area of the cave and overheard some humming of the same tune of a song that was in the Baker house but he continued onwards ignoring it focusing on getting out of there, though as soon as he got to the crawl space it stopped proving to Ethan that Eveline must either be nearby or just was using her power to distract him.

'Either way, I'm not gonna stop until I get (Y/N) out of this place, and away from her.' Ethan thought.

Things quickly turned for the worse when Eveline showed up in front of him telling him to 'die' and then disappeared before his eyes as the place all around him began to shake, either she heard his thoughts and got angry or something else entirely. But Ethan didn't have the time to guess since more of the molded began to materialize before him forcing him to gun most of them down and run his way out of there.

The place continued to shake all around him the further he went and at one moment he overheard Eveline's childish laughter as more molded arrived before him, it took a bit of time but Ethan was still able to gun them down or use some of the makeshift bombs to blow the fuckers up. More laughter from Eveline as she sent more after Ethan but even so Ethan was done with all this and gunned them down too.

Further up Ethan found himself dealing with two of the big molded bastards this would stop him from proceeding further if he didn't kill them so with whatever he had left of his explosives and shotgun bullets he unloaded heck on them it took a bit longer than Ethan had hoped with these two but either way he was soon able to defeat them and quickly climb up the ladder provided there for him to use to continue onwards.

At one point where he was going was a dead end until Ethan noticed a pathway that he could slip through carefully, once on the other side he let out a breath before heading off once more. The exit was covered rather lightly with some wood that looked very easy to break and was proven so when Ethan pushed them off only to find himself back in one of the houses on the Baker estate.

How the hell did these mines lead up to their home? Maybe that question wouldn't get answered and honestly Ethan didn't care to wonder anyways.

Walking inside Ethan first noticed the wheelchair that he'd always see an old lady sitting in at certain parts of the house when he was finding a way out to escape and find some sort of cure for you. But the further he went in the more he began to see old memories? Or hallucinations of events that happened pretty much hours ago.

The first memory was when he had found you and you and brought him to this room panicking about a door not being there, then he suddenly saw a flash of light before everything was back to normal. Why was he seeing this? What the hell was going on? Getting out of the basement Ethan then continued to see 'memories' of hours ago again where it was now of when you first attacked him forcing him to fight back.

Once things went back to normal slightly he noticed Eveline standing at the end of the hallway before he was left alone once again.

"This is your fault." Eveline's voice was heard all around him.
"Why am I seeing this?" Ethan questioned himself.
