CHAPTER 7
Circe
I know she doesn't feel the same way I do, but it's just nice to have someone who cares. My friends always cared of course, but they were always too gentle with me like I was gonna break at any second. It got so frustrating, but with Alice it's different, she is gentle with me, but isn't overly so.
We have these tough conversations without her babying me, and I feel like I can actually speak around her without her flipping out.
It's made me grow to like her. And I know she doesn't feel the same way, but it's nice to dream I guess. Just as she and I were going to get up, going to make up with my friends after I ignored them for entirely too long, she paused, eyes glossing over.
It takes her a good minute to come back, but when she does she looks embarrassed for some reason. I puzzle through my expression, eyebrows tightening, lips pierced.
She takes a deep breath, rushing her words, "Okay, so I just got a weird vision and I know this is gonna sound weird," she pauses, taking another deep breath, "But I really like you."
"What?" I mutter, paralyzed in confusion. She, likes me? But, it can't be like how I like her. She must have just seen a vision of me thinking she wasn't my friend, and she just tried to comfort me. That's what happened. Nothing else is possible, I mean why would she even like me.I think she saw the look on my face, because she revoked in shock, retelling her words, "Wait, no I didn't mean like a friend. I really really like you. Like, like like you. The vision I saw was of us dating."
I know it isn't physically possible for me to blush without blood, but I can feel heat pooling in my cheeks.
"You... do?" I question, voice quiet as a mouse.
She nods, grabbing my hand and squeezing. I smile, squeezing back. She moves closer to me, looking through her lashes and into my eyes. I stare into her beautiful wolf-like eyes. I see her open her mouth, but was nowhere near prepared for what she says next.
"Can," she hesitates, breathing deeply, "can I kiss you?"
My breath hitches, never expecting for her to return my feelings, much less want to kiss me. I silently nod, too excited to speak, knowing it would just be gibberish.
She leans in, looking towards my lips as I stare at hers. They are oddly rosy for having no blood. We slowly lean together, and as we meet I'm the happiest I've felt in a long time.
It feels like it lasts an eternity, even though in reality it was just a peck. As we pull away, she giggles, making me roll onto her laughing, and all of a sudden were hugging on our sides while laughing maniacally.
We begin to settle down, staring into each other's eyes for the second time this week. She sighs, sitting up leaving me laying on the bed alone.
Softly, she whispers, "Hey, let's go find your friends. They should be out of school by now." Sighing, I sit up knowing this has to be done. There is no way around it, so we walk out the door hand in hand.

This is a pretty short one, and also not proofread because I am very lazy.
