2 years later

"How are you Mr. Parks"? I ask Ellie's dad.

"I'm good son. How are you?" He asks.

"I'm doing good. How is your wife doing?"

"She's getting bette every day"

"That's good. I just wanted to drop off the book I wrote for Ellie"

I hand him the book.

"A beautiful soul. That's a wonderful name" he says.

"She was a beautiful soul for sure"

"Yes, she was. Thank you so much" he says.

"Yes sir. I'm going to go see her today. It would've been our 3-year anniversary together today. I got her some flowers"

"Ok well tell her that dad says hi" he says and hugs me.

"I'll see you later Mr. Parks" I say and make my way to her grave.

When I get there, I set out a blanket and sit on it.

"Hey baby. Happy anniversary. I brought some flowers for you. I authored a book about you and dropped it off to your dad. I think you would have enjoyed the book. It's about a girl who met a guy and completely changed his life for the better. Maybe you can read it in another lifetime" I say and kiss her head stone.

I pick up my blanket and walk back to my car and cry.

I cry for the life I could have had with her, and I cry for our baby girl.

I take a drive and think about the memory's we made and the memory's I wish we could have made.

"My life will have meaning because of you. I will live my best life in your memory. Thank you for showing me love. I will be the best person I can be for you" I say to the sky.

I make that promise and I will stick to it. I will make her proud.
