🍂 Chapter 7🍂

Roychowdhury Haveli, Tulsipur.

Anirudh was in his study room after many years which felt like ages to him he was observing the whole room which was neatly assembled and managed as per his choice. A huge photo of his along with all his trophies and medals was hanged on the wall , he remembered he had sent this photo from London and he had seen the great happiness it caused in the house through the reaction given by all on the telephone. He was glad at that time that he made them feel proud, but he sighed sadly as now he has realised that these trophies and medals aren't the real achievements but those are going to be the real ones which he now aims to achieve. His chain of thoughts was broken as he felt a hand on his shoulder, kept as an attempt to gain his attention.

He turned around to find Saudamini standing behind him all smiling and... blushing yes she was blushing and her fingers were playing with the hem of her anchal, but why was she blushing, is what he thought but ignoring that he said reciprocating her smile,
"aree Mini tum yaha kab mujhe toh pata hi nahi chala maaf karna mera toh dhyaan hi nahi tha."
" Mai toh baas abhi aayi hoo , aur koi baat nahi jo tumhara dyaan nahi tha maafi mangne ki koi jarurat nahi hai Anirudh."
She completed yet again blushing.
"Acha thik hai, waise tum yaha iss wakt matlab subhe , subhe kya kar rahi ho kuch kaam tha kya mujhe tumhe Mini ?"
He asked trying to figure out why she was here early in morning.
"Kaam aisa kuch nahi hai mera Anirudh, par kya tumse aise hi Milne nahi aa sakti kya mai aab??"
She replied in an dramatic way to him to which he said,
" Nahi aa sakti ho na kabhi bhi aa sakti hoo tum."
Listening to his words Saudamini got delighted and started talking about various things and Anirudh was just listening to what she was saying, but all this was observed by an pair of eyes and those pair of eyes belonged to Trilochan Roychowdhury who had followed Saudamini as she entered the haveli.

After hearing and listening to all the scenerio in the study Trilochan Roychowdhury got irked and straight away went to the Dugga temple in the house because he knew the only two, that is his Dugga maa and his Sharvari are the only ones in the whole house who would understand him and his overall concern and his irritation related to Saudamini.
It wasn't like something that he hated that girl but he wasn't happy with what she dreamt to be and she dreamt to be a Roychowdhury Bahu.

Reaching there he saw Sharvari making garlands with the fresh marigold flowers that Bihari had brought for her morning pooja. Sensing his presence behind her without turning towards him she asked him,
" Ki hola Jetha Moshai?? Ab mujhse yeh mat kehna ki aap Mini didi ke baat ko lekar yaha aaye hai mere pass"
She completed smiling to herself knowing very well what would be his reply.
"Haa uss ladki ki hi baat karne aaye hai, kyu aayi hai woh yaha hamari haveli mai woh bhi itni subha ko!!!"
Said Trilochan in complete irritation evident in his voice, looking at Sharvari who was putting the garland around the goddess which she completed making just and after doing that she started praying folding her hands and closing her eyes and seeing her do so even he did the same as he knew she he won't answer him anymore untill she completes her veneration. After she was done with her prayers Sharvari went to Trilochan with thali of Prasad and offered him ,
"Jetha Moshai Prasad"
forwarding the plate towards him making him open his eyes and look at her ever smiling face, taking the Prasad he said,
" abb toh jawab do hamare sawal ka"
To which she only indicated him to have the prashad first with her eyes to which he obliged like an obedient kid. Once he was done she said,
"Jetha Moshai, Mini didi, Da ki bachpan ki saheli hai aur apko toh pata bhi hai ki Baba aur Bhaumik uncle ke bich kya chalta rehta hai in dono ko lekar aur woh Da ko nahi par Didi ko bahut ache se pata hai aur uss baat ke chalte didi ka yaha jab Maan kare tab aana kuch galat nahi hai na jetha Moshai."
"Kisne kaha galat nahi hai , bilkul galat hai arre parai ladki hai woh aur abh toh aur jada bhi galat hai uska aana kyuki hamara Anirudh bhi aagaya hai aur tumhara woh Baba aur woh Bhaumik Babu kya chahte hai woh sirf aapne vyapar ke sambandh aache rahe iss liye kar rahe hai par hum iss Ghar ke bade hai aur iss Ghar ka har faisla hum hi lenge aur yee baat toh nischit hai par tum humme ikdum sach batao kya tumhe ye jo chal raha hai pa pasand aata hai kya ??"
Trilochan completed and questioned in his voice of authority.
"Sach kahu toh mujhe kuch bhi samajh nahi aata hai Jetha Moshai, par ha iska matlab yeh nahi mai iss baat se sehmat hoo kyuki pata nahi kyu par mujhe Da ke liye Didi bani hai aisa lagta hi nahi...."
And she was interrupted by Trilochan who was almost overjoyed by listening what she was saying with,
"Haina, haina nahi lagta hai na tumhe bhi, aree hame bhi yahi lagta hai aur issi liye...."
And this time he was interrupted by Sharvari with,
"Jetha Moshai, meri baat toh Puri sun lijiye!! Bohot buri baat aise bich me nahi tokte kisiko!! Ab aap ek bhi shabdh nahi kahenge jabtak mai na kahoo samjhe aap?"
To this he just nodded in affirmation and with his eyes urged her to continue and taking his que she continued,
" Haa toh main keh rahi thi ki mujhe Jo lagta hai woh ek baat hai par Da ka kya agar unhe Mini didi pasand aati hai toh kya hum unke Maan ke viruddh kuch karenge kya Jetha Moshai, toh iska jawab ek saral Naa hai sahi kaha na maine."
And she turns around as she had turned back to Dugga maa to keep the puja thali back to its place,to see as she wasn't getting any response to only find her Jetha Moshai indicating her something and she realised what he was saying and she immediately said,
"Haa haa boliye aap hai meri anumati ."
" Badi ajeeb ho tum pehle bolne se mana karti hoo aur jab bolne ka waqt aata hai tu sahise anumati bhi nahi deti tum."
Said Trilochan showing anger to which she just held her ears as an apology and said,
"Sorry..... A.a.a mera matlab maaf kar dijiye Jetha Moshai aap boliye na Mai sunn rahi hoo."
" Ha sahi kaha tumne uske kya hum hamare kisi bhi bacche ke Maan ke viruddh kuch bhi nahi karenge par iska matlab yeh nahi na ki apni aankhon ke samne kuch bhi galat hota dekh le. Are phir bhi tumhare Baba ke liye hum iss baat ko Maan bhi jate par kab, tab jab woh ladki humari icha anusar ho toh par ye Saudamini bilkul uske viruddh hai viruddh, arre Bhai hamare bhi kuch adarsh hai jiske anusaar humari Bahu ho yaha toh Ghar ki sabse badi Bahu ki baat hai... Nahi nahi hum kuch nahi ulta sidha hone denge karenge hum kuch."
Completed Trilochan with determination.
"Nahi aap kuch nahi karenge..."
Snapped Sharvari immediately.
"Aur kya tum humme batane ki kasht karogi ki hum kyu aisa nahi karenge?"
Asked Trilochan with a frowning face.
"Aisa iss liye kyuki aap jaldbaazi kar rahe hai, aur aab meri puri baat dhyaan se suniye. Filhaal humme Da ka maat is bare mei kya hai ye pata nahi isliye sahi samay dekh mai yeh maat unse Jaan lungi aur fir hum Tay karenge aage kya karna hai. Ab ye rahi ek baat Jetha Moshai dusri baat yeh hai ki kal agar jaisa aapne kaha ki kuch karenge aur kal isske baad baba apse puchenge ki agar aapko unki chunni ladki galat lagti hai toh kya aap ke paas koi aur acha aur yogya vikalp hai toh kya jawab denge aap socha hai aapne."
Said Sharvari putting trilochan in deep thoughts.
"Hmm thik keh rahi ho tum par kya kare hum aab, uss Anirudh se janne bina koi ladki bhi nahi dhund sakte hum ab tum hi batao ki hum kya kare Mishti!!"
Said Trilochan sounding defeated.
" Nirash maat ho jaiye aap, aur waise bhi aap hi hamesha kehte hai na jab kuch na samjhe aur kuch na sujhe toh sab kuch Dugga maa par sop dena chahiye. Aur kya pata jis yogya ladki ki hamme khoj hai usse Dugga maa ne pehle hi chun rakha ho bass sahi samay ki rah ki intezar ho unhe humme usse milane ka, kyu??"
Completed Sharvari being enthusiastic.
"Hmm shayad Jo tum keh rahi ho woh sahi ho toh thik hum aab sab Dugga maa pe sop dete hai "
Saying this he by joining his hands infront of the idol made a soft prayer that may his wish becomes true .
"Hey Dugga maa agar mai jaise soch rahi hoo waisa agar sach mai ho toh please usse humare pass bhej do tabh hi yeh sara tanav kam ho jayega"
Prayed Sharvari in her mind looking at Durga maa idol.

Bondita's house, Devipur.

Deboleena, Bondita's Mami was busy counting a bundle of notes and was humming a tune in sheer happiness visible on her face and her eyes had turned wide like saucers in delight. Sudesh entered the same room and sensing his presence she immediately put that bundle of notes inside the box , but Sudesh had observed something and he questioned her,
"Kya Kiya tumne abhi kya chupaya mujhse??"
"Kuch bhi toh nahi kaha kuch hai , aur aap ye chodo aur mai kehti hoo woh sunno!!"
She exclaimed immediately changing the topic.
""Kya kehna hai tumhe "

Asked Sudesh raising a brow at her, as her extremely sweet behaviour was suspicious as well as haunting for him because he knew it very well this only came when her was upto something huge.
"Maine na apni Sampoorna ke jaise hi bondita ke liye bhi ek ladka dekh liya hai , bahut acha hai woh aur toh aur woh hamari Bondita se jaldh se jaldh vivah bhi karna chahate hai aur itna hi nahi toh maine unhe ha bhi kar di kyuki unhe koi dehej bhi nahi chahiye humse. Isliye meine unse keh diya ki dono behno ka vivah ek hi mandap mei hoga aur woh Maan bhi gaye."
Said Deboleena in on breathe and looked at her husband who looked completely shocked at what she just said. He immediately felt in deep thoughts thinking what all is this happening and that too suddenly. But Deboleena snapped her hands and broke his chain of thoughts and said,
"Kya kaha kho gai aap mai itni badi baat kahi aur aap...."
But she was interrupted by him in loud voice which visibly displayed his anger,
"Wahi toh itni badi baat hai aur tum mujhe sab teh karne ke baad bata rahi , aur toh aur woh insaan kon hai kaha rehta hai kya karta hai kuch kuch nahi bata rahi aur kya sab teh kar diya mujhe kon puchega aur mujhe chodo jiske jeevan ka nirnay liya uski maa ko tak nahi pucha tumne itni bhi kya jaldi thi tume haaa kya thi ????"
" Pehle toh na aap apki aawaz niche kijiye aur kya apki iss vidhwa behen se puchu woh bhi mai are rehne dijiye woh toh hone se raha aur kya aap mere nirnay par sawal karenge mere?? Himmat badhi baad gayi hai aapki. Agar maine keh diya toh bass keh diya wohi hoga aab iss Ghar mei aur ha jara jakar apni behen ko bhi yeh shubh samachar de Dena aur uss jaladh Rani ko bhi samjhane ke liye keh dena warna Mai agar samjhane gayi toh woh uske liye acha nahi hoga, aur waise bhi mai bhi toh uska bhala hi toh chahti hoo isliye samjha kare aap bhi!!"
Completed Deboleena and marched out of the room leaving Sudesh with no other option.

Entering the room where his elder sister was sitting and doing prayer, he went and sat near her and said,
" Didi mujhe tumse baat karni hai "
"Haa bolona na Bhai kya baat hai"
She immediately said sensing something is wrong with him.
"Woh didi..."
And he narrated the whole happening to her who after hearing all that had tears in her eyes out of both shock and sadness, shock of being not being included in her child's biggest life decision and sadness that of she can't do anything in this matter even after knowing everything. But still recovering herself she said,
"Koi baat nahi Bhai agar boudi ne khudse ye kiya toh kuch soch kar hi Kiya hoga na, aur waise bhi kehte hai na Jo hota hai woh acche ke liye hi hota hai. Ab sab Dugga maa ke bharose hai."
" Haa didi ab toh sab Dugga maa ke bharose hi hai par Bondita ka kya didi usse samjha logi na tum kyuki usse adat hai sawal karne ki aur filhal hamre pass hi hamare sawalo ki jawab nahi hai."
Said Sudesh with concerned face.
"Uski fikar maat Karo tum , usse Mai samjha hi loongi kyuki woh chahe ya na chahe usse ye samajhna hii hoga."
Replied Sumati with determination.
