Evelyn pulled her phone out of her locker a few weeks later after a shift at the club to see a message from Chris.

Chris
So I don't scare you again
I'm warning you I'm waiting outside 😘

She had to hold back a squeal as she changed quickly into her jeans and t-shirt before heading out the back, feeling arms wrap around her from behind. She smiled, turning to see Chris. "Hi. You're early. I wasn't expecting you for a few more days."

He grinned, "I know. I missed you." He grunted as he felt her push him against the side of the building, planting her lips firmly on his as he wrapped his arm around her back. "Come home with me?" He moaned as she kissed his neck, nipping softly.

She pulled away, "I'll sleep with you, but no sex until you take me for a real date Evans."

He laughed, "deal. Come on."

"I'll drive separate so I can leave in the morning for work. Still at the same place?"

He nodded, "yeah. I'll meet you there."

She watched him walk away as she got into her car, seeing him turn back to look at her as she did.

She didn't bother knocking as she arrived at Chris's rental house, removing her jacket and shoes, leaving them by the front door. She squealed as she was greeted by a brown and white dog. "Who are you?!" She heard Chris laugh as he entered the living room as she knelt in front of the dog, petting him.

"That's my dog, Dodger. Didn't have him with me last time." He laughed as he watched Dodger lick her face, making her laugh. "He likes you."

"He's great. So cute." She grinned as she stood up, accepting a bottle of water from Chris as she did. "I can't believe I'm here. Again."

He laughed, "come on. You must be tired."

She sighed as she followed him into his bedroom, setting the water bottle on the nightstand. She took off her jeans before crawling into bed beside him. She smiled as he pulled her to his chest. She brought her hand up to his full beard, "I like this."

"Well, get in your fill because I'm losing it in a few days." He smiled as she groaned, "sorry love."

She giggled as he rolled her to her back, rubbing his beard along her neck before kissing her up to her jaw. She brought her hand up to his cheek as he hovered his mouth over hers, "I haven't had a man interested in me for more than just sex in a long time Chris."

He grinned, "who says I want more than sex?" He grunted as she hit him in the chest, "I'm only kidding. I'm content with taking it slow, if you like. I'm just happy to be back here with you Evie."

She nodded, pulling his mouth to hers as she heard him moan. She finally pushed him away, out of breath, "okay."

He laughed, "you started it."

"I know." She sighed, laying back on his chest as he wrapped his arm around her, "I need sleep. I have a full day of patients tomorrow."

"Sure." Chris reached over, turning off the side lamp before resting his head on hers.

Evelyn woke up to Dodger jumping onto the bed, licking her face. She laughed, opening her eyes as the sunlight invaded them. She groaned, looking to see Chris wasn't next to her. She brushed Dodger off her before getting up, putting on her jeans as she did. She checked the time to see it just after 6.

She walked into the kitchen to find Chris standing at the stove in just his underwear. She leaned on the doorframe as she watched him, "now that's a sight."

Chris laughed as he looked up at Evelyn. "My internal clock is a little messed up still. I didn't know what time you started so I wanted to get up and make you breakfast."

She nodded, accepting a cup of coffee from him. "Thank you Chris. That's really sweet."

He saw her giving him a look as she leaned against the counter, "what is it?"

She shrugged, "I don't know. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop I guess. What am I doing here?!"

"I like you Evelyn. How many times do I have to say that. I think you're beautiful and charming. And funny. And stubborn. I just want a chance to get to know you." He set a plate of food in front of her, "actually. I was thinking..."

Evelyn sighed, "okay. What about?"

"Well. I know you have to work today. I thought maybe I could accompany you with your patients? I'd love to spend more time with you and see you as you work."

She groaned, "I don't know Chris..."

He shrugged, "don't have to. Just thought it would be a great way to spend more time together."

Evelyn didn't say anything as she ate her breakfast. "Okay. Fine. I have to go home and change. I'll text you my address so we can ride together. 7:30. Okay?"

Chris grinned, nodding, "okay! Thank you Eve. I'll see you in an hour."

She sighed, "yeah. Alright." She grabbed his hand as she kissed him before leaving. "Bonus points if you bring me more coffee."  She laughed at his smirk as she left.
