27 | polyjuice potion

During the Christmas Feast, Cora was sitting with Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. All her other friends had returned home for the break.

Sometimes she wondered what it would be like to have a caring family to spend the holidays with. At least she had her brother.

Cora had spent the morning with him, and actually had a nice time. They exchanged gifts, played in the snow, and had a long talk about how it felt to have everyone thinking they were the heirs of Slytherin. While she didn't care, Harry was dreading the looks and the comments everyone made about them. Nevertheless, she told him he should only care about what the people he loved thought, which made him feel better.

After the feast, Draco and Cora went back to their common room, while Crabbe and Goyle stayed to eat some more.

As they left, Cora saw Hermione, Harry and Ron looking at them thinking it was odd, so she decided to go to Myrtle and ask her how the Polyjuice Potion was going. Meanwhile, Draco went ahead to the common room.

"Hello, Myrtle", said Cora as soon as she entered the bathroom.

"Cora! Hello", answered Myrtle.

"Is the potion ready?"

"Yes, I believe they plan on drinking it tonight."

Cora smirked. "Perfect. Did you swap the hair Hermione had?"

"Yes. This will be so fun", Myrtle giggled.

Because Crabbe and Goyle were taking too long, Draco convinced Cora to go looking for them. Walking around the dungeons, they found them with Percy Weasley. Cora really disliked him, and according to Fred and George, he was a stuck up git who thought was better than everyone else.

"Crabbe, Goyle, where have you two been? Pigging out in the Great Hall all this time?", said Draco. They nodded.

"Was it at least good?", asked Cora. They nodded again. Odd, thought Cora.

"Why are you wearing glasses?", Draco asked Goyle. Cora also looked at him suspiciously.

"Ah.. um.. reading", answered Goyle.

"Reading?", Draco frowned. "I didn't know you could read."

"Did you take them from my brother? Those look exactly like his...", said Cora.

He shook his head. The voice of Draco distracted her from her thoughts. "And what are you doing down here, Weasley?", he sneered.

"Last time I checked, Gryffindor Common Room was not down here", said Cora also sneering at Percy.

"Mind your attitude, Malfoy, and mind your tone, Potter", Percy said sharply.

"We'll pass, thank you", answered Cora with a fake smile.

Draco raised his eyebrows once with a sneer and walked past Percy, Cora doing the same but also looking him up and down. Crabbe and Goyle, who were actually Harry and Ron, followed closely behind.

Once in the common room, Draco flopped down on the couch next to the fireplace, Cora doing the same beside him. Harry and Ron stood their awkwardly while looking around the common room.

"Well, sit down", instructed Draco.

They did sit, but very properly. Cora had wheels spinning and a thought came to mind that those weren't Crabbe and Goyle. She shared a look with Draco, signaling that those were Harry and Ron because they already knew about the potion. As they had previously agreed when Cora had told Draco about the Polyjuice Potion, they decided to mess with them.
