Inclement Weather

I slowly woke up and noticed a man near us, crouched over a camp fire. My eyes widened and I woke up Tavia.

He slowly approached us and lifted my head, holding a cup to my face.

"Where is Lincoln?" Tavia asks

"Drink." He responds

I look at Tavia for approval and she hesitantly nods

I drink all of the red liquid which tasted bitter and he gave some to Tavia as well.

We laid back down and fell asleep due to feeling weak.

Once we woke up, the man was still there.

"You're feeling better?" He asks

"Who are you?" I ask

"Where's Lincoln?" Tavia adds

"I'm Nyko. Lincoln is my friend." He replies

We both get up, feeling much better than before.

"Great you can stand. You should run now." Nyko warned

We both exchanged worried looks

"What happened to Lincoln? where is he?" I ask

"He is answering for his crimes. Due to him helping you and her, our people are vulnerable. If reapers come we will die." Nyko sighs

"Wait. Do you mean they caught him? They'll kill him! We have to help him. You said he's your friend so help him." Tavia begs

"I did. I saved your lives. Now go." He orders

Tavia and I exchange looks and we kick his legs causing him to fall. Tavia grabs a rock and hits his head, knocking him out.

"Thanks for saving our lives, Nyko..." I sigh

Tavia hold a knife up to his throat as we walk toward the village. Archers have arrows pointed at us ready to shoot on command.

"Ai laik okteivia gon skai kru"

"Ai laik aurora gon skai kru"

"And you have something we want." Tavia yells

Suddenly a woman with tattoos on her face and arms walks out and approaches us.

"Ai laik indria gon trikru. Chit do yu want okteivia en aurora gon skai kru?" She questions

We look at her confused obviously we didn't fully understand trig.

She walked closer to us.

"I said, 'what do you want, Octavia and Aurora of the sky people?'" She stated

"Lincoln." Tavia demanded

"No."

Not taking no for an answer, I kick Nyko's leg, bringing him to the ground and Tavia pressed the knife dangerously close to his neck.

"Nyko is our only healer." She said

"Then you'll do as we say. Bring Lincoln to where we saw him last. Just you and him. If we see anyone else, I kill Nyko." Tavia threatens

"You have until dark." I warn

We slowly walk backwards with Nyko while all of their people look at us in disbelief.

We waited until nightfall came and heard movement from the trees.

Tavia brought Nyko to his feet and held the knife against his throat. Indra and Lincoln came into view.

"He's hurt!" I yell

"He should be dead." Indra says with a blunt expression

Nyko walks towards Indra while Lincoln limps towards us.

We smile at each other before Lincoln's face drops.

"Reapers!"

I tried to defend myself but the reapers are 10x the size of me and I was easily knocked out along with Tavia.

The last thing I saw was Lincoln and Nyko being taken away by the reapers, leaving Indra, Tavia, and I behind.
