description: jeongin is a famous judge, having been the youngest to be appointed as one in the entire world at the age of 24. not only did he set a world record, but he is also good at his job. changbin, on the other hand, is a murderer. jeongin often takes part in court cases with scum like him. having read the report beforehand, he already has in mind what the criminal deserves- a death sentence. yet, as soon as changbin enters the court, jeongin changes his mind.

"the verdict is out. the jury declare the defendant guilty as charged." the court fell silent, curious of the murderer's punishment which was up to the judge. "defendant seo will be serving 128 years imprisoned in the manor of the west vereilles hall, where he will be kept under constant supervision."

the jury was shocked. for the first time, they were doubting judge yang's decision. the entire court erupted in whispers. but the judge didn't hesitate. instead, he gleefully watched seo changbin's panicked reaction to his sentence. although he'd seemed very smug throughout the entire legal process after having been accused of third degree murder of a young couple in their 30s (plus the first degree murder of another man that'd been discovered towards the end of the trial but was mostly overlooked), two counts of manslaughter, illegal distribution of narcotics, and unlawful confinement of seven individuals, for the first time he seemed... disturbed. he furiously turned to the jury, glaring at one man specifically who avoided his gaze. his defense lawyer, choi yeonjun, furiously tried to address the judge desperately, but to no avail. 

"order in the court!" jeongin shouted. "this decision is final. court adjourned." he waited as everyone exited the court, keeping an eye on changbin. the older man hugged his lawyer goodbye and was escorted away by the guards. the two seemed to have a close relationship... well, the judge would find out soon enough.

the prosecutor, kim seungmin, approached with an amused look on his face, "so, what's up with that sentence? i knew you'd suggest something out of the ordinary, but this seems a little... did you even get the permission to do that? after all, you're bringing a ruthless criminal into your own household."

jeongin smirked, "you're just as square as ever, seungminnie. you know i have a few connections, and i'm pretty important to our legal system," he said proudly as seungmin grumbled, "so they wouldn't dare go against my word."

"are you sure? i mean, this is pretty risky." 

"i'm not too worried, so you shouldn't be either."

"hmm.... whatever you say," his voice dropped to a whisper as he gripped jeongin's shoulder, "you owe me a favor, it took a lot of effort to bribe the jury into all agreeing to the guilty verdict. this guy was connected in the vermillion."

jeongin nodded at that, "what do you want, dear friend?" he said playfully.

"buy me drinks tonight. i have something i'd like to discuss with you." 

jeongin agreed, and they parted ways after having shook hands.
