Giyuu's Pov:

Around ten in the morning, Giyuu was returning to his estate by himself.

Why you might ask?

Well because Sabito had left earlier that morning, left saying he had something he had to take care of. And the raven-haired man had a check-up at the butterfly estate he couldn't miss. Tomioka didn't push for an answer because he had the feeling Sabito would tell him eventually. But he was damn curious. And it had been on his mind ever since the peach-haired man had left.

'I'm sore.'

Tomioka thought to himself as soon as he got into his estate and could sit down. With all his bruises healing steadily, and his sprain almost fully repaired. He was feeling very stiff and tired everywhere. Not to mention his broken arm. It was still in a cast so he couldn't even move it.

As Tomioka sat on the couch quietly, he let his mind wander.

But unlike usual, he was able to keep the light of his thought, not quickly sinking into the hurtful and damaging ones.

It was nice, and Tomioka had an idea of why this was happening.

Ever since Sabito had returned, the man had been adamant about Tomioka just letting loose. Saying and doing whatever he wanted.

It was difficult, but he was surviving. Especially with the help of Sabito's little therapy sessions. They may have been emotionally exhausting, but they worked in the long run.

Thanks to the help of the other man, Tomioka is no longer cutting. He also didn't have the twenty-four-seven urge to Yeet himself off a two hundred foot tall bridge into the rapids anymore. Or at least not as often. The thoughts were still there they just didn't consume everything else like they used to.

Even if it had only been about a week and a half since Sabito had returned.

'With Sabito's help, I wonder how much better I could get in a year? Maybe by then all the terrible thoughts and ideas would be gone completely?'

He thought to himself as he stoop up off his couch and walked towards the kitchen, he was getting hungry.

Oh! that was another thing Tomioka was getting better at. He had never had a large appetite, but over the past couple of years, it had deteriorated even more. To the point where he was barely eating. But he always had a little pink girl pestering him to try a new food that she had just discovered. And Tomioka was grateful for that.

If it wasn't for Mitsuri, he probably would have died of malnutrition a long time ago.

Even when the girl had first gotten here to study as Rengoku's Tsugoku, she had immediately noticed Tomioka's weight and had made it her mission to feed him something new at least once a day. Sometimes it was more.

Now looking back on those fond memories, he realized that the little love hashira had always been looking out for him. Constantly doing what a friend would even when Tomioka didn't have a clue what was going on.

It gave the raven-haired man the warm happy fuzzies, and he liked them.

'I guess I've always had friends, I just never realized it at the time.'

He thought blissfully as he pulled out some Sakura mochi Mitsuri had dropped off yesterday.

'That's refreshing to know, just idiot I couldn't realize what was going on. I thought she was just an annoying little girl. I guess she must have realized something was wrong.'

Tomioka thought as he hungrily ate the pink rice treats. It may not have been a full meal, but at least it was food and it tasted good.

He sighed happily when he was finished, but his stomach-happy time was rudely interrupted by his crow ramming into one of the water estate windows.
