Sabito's Pov:
It had been a couple of days since their dinner with the snake and love hashira. And if Sabito was being honest, he felt vulnerable.
He knew he was terrible at hiding his feelings, Mamako and Urokodaki had made that very clear when he had been younger. But he seriously thought he was getting better at it.
Apparently not though. Because within two days of knowing Mitsuri and Iguro, and after only a couple of hours of interactions. They had figured out Sabito's feelings for Giyuu faster than the peach-haired man had originally found out.
It was kind of annoying that way. Because back when they were kids. It had taken weeks of persuasion from Mamako and their sensei for Sabito to acknowledge that he could have more than just platonic feelings for his raven-haired friend. And then years of figuring out just how much Sabito loved the young boy.
But back then it just felt like a blissful puppy-love crush.
But now he knew it was more than just some silly childhood crush. Because Sabito, my man, had come back from the freaking dead to be with the lonely water hashira.
So it made the peach-haired man re-evaluate what he felt. From watching over the Raven-haired man from the afterlife, Sabito had ruled out the possibility of it just being a crush.
He truly loved Giyuu Tomioka, and couldn't stand seeing him suffer. To the point where he would break the rules of death to just protect himself from himself.
But now that he was here, he had no idea in hell what he was supposed to do. well other than protect him of course. But that was a given.
The night that Giyuu had asked him to sleep together, Sabito couldn't help but wonder what the other man's feelings were for him.
And from the way Mitsuri described it, it sounded as if Giyuu liked the peach-haired man back. He just didn't know it yet. Or at least wasn't able to recognize the feelings the same way Sabito was able to.
Probably because Sabito had had a support system back then, people would pick him up if he fell. And Giyuu only had Sabito, and he'd only had him for a few days since he'd returned. Before that he had nothing. He distanced himself from everyone and wouldn't accept help when he needed it.
Sabito supposed Giyuu didn't want to admit the feelings to himself because if he did, and then confessed. There was always the possibility that Sabito would reject him, possibly leave with the knowledge.
Sabito himself knew that under any circumstances he would never leave Giyuu. No matter what. But it was possible that the raven-haired man didn't believe that.
Even if Giyuu confessed to the other man and he didn't return the feeling. (Which would never happen. Sabito was head-over-heels for him) Sabito still wouldn't leave because of something like that, they would find a way to work around that and still be friends.
But then again that wouldn't happen because the raven-haired man had stolen the other's heart. And was never gonna give it up.
Sabito just hoped he could make the other realize his feelings before their time together ran out. Which was inevitable.
All Sabito wanted was to show Giyuu the love he deserved, show him that he was wanted and would always have someone he could talk to. Someone he could lean on. But he couldn't do that without Giyuu's help.
Sabito needed Giyuu to accept him and the help he could give before he was no longer there to give it.
'If I can't help him in this life, then ill just give him everything in the next one.'
'No screw that! I AM going to help him in this life. If he likes it or not!'
Sabito had thought stubbornly, before peacefully falling asleep with Giyuu wrapped tightly in his arms.
And so far he has been trying to do so. Encouraging the raven-haired man to open up and talk about his feelings and emotions. It hadn't been easy though. And when the smaller man had opened up, it was always an emotional rollercoaster. For both of them.
Let's just say Giyuu had a LOT of pent-up emotions that hadn't been expressed in ages. and he was still very guarded when talking about them.
But something the peach-haired man had recently discovered, is that Giyuu thrived on physical touch. It was his love language, no doubt about it.
Sabito already knew that from back when they were still training. Giyuu constantly had to be touching someone, or at least close enough to feel their warmth. Otherwise, he'd get nervous, and sometimes he'd cry.
Especially at night.
When Giyuu had first arrived at Urokodaki's place. Sabito would always hear him sniffling and quietly sobbing. He must have thought the other boy that slept in the same room as him couldn't hear him. But he did. And it was one of Sabito's sad memories of the other man.
But after a couple of weeks of this, Sabito had deemed himself a close enough friend of the blue-eyed boy to comfort him.
So that night as little Giyuu cried quietly to himself, Sabito snuck up to him. He had scared the other boy by accident, but after the initial shock and embarrassment, he had let Sabito onto his futon. It had taken about an hour for Giyuu to feel comfortable enough, but he had eventually crawled right up into Sabito's side. Then proceeded to pass out immediately. The usual worry lines etched onto the young boy's face faded softly as he drifted off into a deep and comfortable sleep.
But the next morning when Mamako and Urokodaki-sensei had found them, they had teased them about it tirelessly until nightfall.
From that night on, Giyuu and Sabito had pushed their futons together and just Shared the combined mattress. It had stayed that way for years, no matter how old they were getting.
It was one of the many things Sabito had never wanted to change.
But all things have to come to an end eventually. Sabito just hoped that his feelings for Giyuu were different.
As the two men had meaningful conversations together, Sabito just knew that his love for the other man would last lifetimes, he just hoped Giyuu's love for him was the same. Even if it was platonic.
So as Giyuu opened up about everything that had happened when Sabito was gone, the larger man would him between his arms and legs, the same way you'd hold a scared child.
This was a simple gesture, but it encouraged Giyuu to share more. But then comforted him when things were just a little too much and he began to cry.
Sabito would whisper sweet nothings as he comforted the other man, hoping that his presence was enough.
But Sabito knew that Giyuu was healing physically, not only mentaly. And soon enough he'd go back to his slaying. hH knew that he probably wouldn't see the raven-haired man as often, and it hurt him.
But he had come up with a solution, and that is what he was going to do now.
Sabito politely knocked on the door to one of the largest estates he had seen, hoping that he had correctly followed Mitsuri's directions.
A quiet response came from behind the door, telling him to enter.
Sabito bowed deeply showing his respect to the man in front of him before politely kneeling in front of him.
"What is it you wish to speak about child?"
The man asked as Sabito raised his head to meet the blind man's eye.
"I wish to join the demon slayer corps, officially anyways. Master Ubuyashiki."
