Chapter 6

The morning was the same as the last; I woke up Giovannie and made him breakfast. The only difference was that he took the bus to school. He wanted to be with his best friend Kyle. I stood at the doorway watching Giovannie climb the steps into the bus. Once the bus closed it's doors and drove away, I saw Trevor standing in the doorway staring at me. I stared at him, meeting his eyes in the distance. Even from across the street I could see his eyes glimmering with unshed tears. I gave him a sad smile and nodded once before turning and walked into the house closing the door behind me. I walked into my room and put on tight jeans, a blue t-shirt and then I put on motorcycle boots. I also grabbed a light jacket. Iwalked to the table and grabbed the list I made before going to bed. I patted my butt, feeling my wallet in the left back pocket. I grabbed my keys and left the house, locking the door before closing it. I walked to my car, started it, pulled out of thedriveway and turned onto the street as I sped up towards my destination.

After twenty minutes, I pulled into a semi-busy Wal-Mart parking lot. I turned and parked in a space which was in the middle of the row. I got out, put on my jacket and closed the door. I pressed the alarm button on my key chain and the car made a locking and then a beep sound. I walked down the row, my boots clacking on the asphalt. I jogged across the busy street where the cars were leaving or going into the rows. The door opened automatically. I felt the cold breeze of the air-conditioning and I heard the click as the door close behind me. The sound of beeping scanners and the sound of many voices filled the giant warehouse-like building. A worker rolled a cart to me. I smiled, grabbed it, and pushed forward into the crowd of shoppers.I started in the produce aisle, grabbing the tomatoes, the onions, the lettuce, and several other fresh vegetables. I stopped when I saw the broccoli, I was slightly grossed out. I hate broccoli, but Giovannie loves them, especially raw. I sigh and add the repulsive green thing to the cart. I wove myself through the aisles, picking up what was on my list. My cart was half full by the time I arrived att he chips and soda aisle.

I don't effing care if chips and soda are TERRIBLE for children, I love them and so does Giovannie so take that and stuff it down your A hole, health freaks. I mentally screamed out and got Mello Yello for me and Coca-Cola for Giovannie. He loves Coca-Cola for some odd reason.

I turned and looked at the chip selections; I immediately grabbed the plain Fritos and the regular Lays chips and put them in the cart. I then wheeled to the alcoholic beverage aisle. I scanned the wine selection until I found my favorite wine of all time, strawberry wine. I grabbed two bottles of it and placed them in the cart and wheeled the cart into the frozen aisle. I grabbed waffles, pancakes, five big pizzas, a bag of tater tots and restaurant style fries. I was at last done with the food section of Wal-Mart and I wheeled to the electronics. Iwalked, looking around and I stop suddenly as I saw the best deal ever.

The sign said 'Get one Ipod touch phone and get one free' I turned the cart and walked toward the sign. There was an Ipod touch phone with a sticker price of'$199.00'. I grabbed it, walked to the cash register, bought the phone and then I got the other one for free.

Giovannie is gonna love this. I thought excitedly.

I wheeled to the gardening section and looked around. I bought a dozen of different colored lilies, roses, and moon flowers and by that time my cart was overflowing. I went to the closest register and paid for everything besides the Ipod touch since I had already bought that. The total was what I expected, five hundred and sixty-twodollars. When the girl manning the register got to the winebottles, she looked at me.

“You got ID?”she asked.

“Yes,” I pulled out my driver's license and showed it to her.

“23, okay,”she said and continued on.
