Chapter 2: Captain's Meeting!

Julius Novachrono was extremely furious, it wasn't long before news reached his ears about the event that took place in the magic parliament. As the Magic Emperor he had always strongly believed that status mattered not and for him people like Asta and Yuno despite their status were a valuable asset to the Kingdom and an example of how every Magic Knight should strive to be.

Asta was an ideal magic knight but he was put on trial without his permission, the Magic Parliament might be led by the House of Kira and as such they are the highest authority in the Kingdom but he is the Magic Emperor and Asta is a magic knight under him as such he was responsible for the boy.

Now they have lost a valuable Magic Knight because of the greedy and entitled aristocrats who believed in their status above anything else. Although what unsettled him the most was the identity of Asta's father, Invel Staria was the last person Julius would expect to be the father of one his valuable Magic Knights.

He knew that eventually Invel would have seeked to reconnect with his son and that the chances of Asta joining the Spade Kingdom was something he couldn't fully predict but with Today's event the chances of Asta joining the Spade Kingdom had been 100%.

Don't get him wrong, he loved Asta after all the boy was like another one of his children and he would have fully understood if Asta decided to join the Spade Kingdom after all he had no right to force him to stay in the Clover Kingdom after all his services but what angered him the most was the immature action taken in the Magic Parliament courtroom.

They have made themselves an enemy of Invel Staria, a man he had come to acknowledge as a powerful mage worthy of respect because he was what a royalty should always strive to be, a compassionate man who cares about the well being of the common folks above anything else.

He can't say the same thing for the King of the Clover Kingdom who despite his high magic reserve and his powerful magic attribute which is Light Magic. The King was shown to be completely immature with its use and it was honestly wasted on him.

He knew that it was Asta's love for the Clover Kingdom that Invel hadn't taken today's event personally. If Invel had taken it personally, he doubted the Clover Kingdom would last even half a day and considering the state of the country and his loss of power he doubted anybody could contend with that man.

Julius opened his eyes to stare at the captain that had attended the meeting, all of them were either glaring or giving a disappointed look towards Damnatio Kira who attended the meeting although some of the captains seem to understand the position that Damnatio was in.

Yami was the first to break the silent atmosphere by pushing his chair back with a little more force than usual. "I want to ask, what is that guy from the Kira family doing here?" asked Yami, obviously unhappy to see that guy, the only reason why he hadn't made any move on him in the trial was because his priority was to ensure the safety of Nero and he was sure that Asta would have wanted the Black Bulls to not be endangered because of him.

Damnatio didn't say anything, he knew that Yami's anger was justified and that his action was quite reckless. Julius let out a tired sigh "He's here because the situation concerns him as well. I know that your anger is justified but we can't argue among each other especially in the current state of the Kingdom." Said Julius rubbing his forehead.
