Chapter 4: Origin of Magic!
It has been a half a year ever since Asta had started training with the help of his father Invel Staria. Now Asta stood at 5'5 which meant that Asta had pretty much graduated from shrimphood. Words couldn't describe how happy Asta was when he learned that he had grown another 5 feet in just half a year, something that he had struggled with ever since he reached puberty when Yuno had outgrown him in height.
He knew that in another half a year, if he grew at the same rate as he did, he might very well surpass Yuno in height, something which made him quite ecstatic since he had at one point dreamt of being the one to look down on Yuno from above just like Yuno had did to him several times.
Asta had also grown to be attractive just like his father and his fashion taste that was said to be quite horrible and bland was now changed into something much more appealing. Now he wore a silver jacket which underneath it was a black shirt and a black jeans and his most consistent piece of clothes is his necklace which resembled a sword with a stone in it.
His attire was nowhere near flashy and it's definitely not something you would expect a royalty would wear but it was enough for him given that he looked much better than he was before and if he was being honest he didn't really like the idea of wearing too much gold in his attire but he knew that eventually he will have to look the part.
Even after 6 months of getting used to his new status as a royalty, the one thing that never changed in Asta is his kindness towards those of lower class. He might be the Prince of an entire nation but he still remembers the struggles that peasants and commoners have to go through everyday just to live.
He wasn't going to let himself turn like those self absorbed royals and nobles in the Clover Kingdom. He was going to be a better royal who protects his people from all kinds of threats while offering everyone equal opportunity, something that his father was quite happy to know and even encouraged him to see through it to the very end.
Over the course of these 6 months, Asta had learned that he was quite a prodigy and even a genius but Asta always thought it was just his hard work that had gotten him where he is today. Nowadays people have a bad habit of always labeling people with exceptional strength as 'Prodigies' or 'Geniuses' just because they have strength that is quite rare for their age but for Asta it was an insult to his hard work.
He had trained a lot to get where he is today, he had lived his entire childhood without magic and was still able to find another method to get stronger thanks to the help of his anti-magic but it was his physical strength that he attained through hard work that allowed him to wield the large Demon-Slayer Sword. That's not to mention his rather chaotic and unpredictable swordsmanship which was the product of his early training with the former Diamond Kingdom instructor Fanzell and his later experience against Kiato including several powerful enemies had shaped him to who he is today.
Invel had once told Asta that 'Talent means nothing, while experience, acquired in humility and with hard work, means everything'. Asta was the epitome of hard work, he had gained his strength through humility, experience and hard work.
