Chapter 10: Ritual and the Dark Triad!

Asta was smirking as he saw Howzer mouth on the ground as he witnessed his secret dungeon that was hiding behind the shelves. It wasn't him only the others had varying reactions to the secret dungeon with Margaret having a look of utter disbelief along with Gilthunder who was trying to process what he saw and lastly Guila who mostly had her eyes closed almost all the time now had her eyes wide open and bulging out.

"Holy shit! Is that a secret base or something?!" Howzer asked a little loudly which normally Guila would give him a sharp glare for his tone but then again she was mostly in a shocked state and was also wondering the same thing.

"Never seen a dungeon before?" Asked Asta with a slight smirk, I mean his second mission in the Black Bulls was going inside a dungeon but still he could understand how cool it is to have your own secret hideout underneath your mansion.

"Wow...I guess that was just expected of you." Gilthunder responded with a smile having managed to get his bearings but was still taken off guard from surprise.

"Let's Leave your questions for later, we will be going down where the ritual will be taking place to make you guys stronger than before by merging with your respective grimoires." Said Asta wanting to prevent more questions even if he did want to answer them but he had to admit that they were taking too long.

"That's understandable." Guila answered silently, a little bit shaken from seeing the dungeon but steeled her nerves for what's about to come.

Asta nodded his head as he took the lead by walking down the stairs being followed by the others while Gilthunder grabbed Margaret hand as a way to comfort her given that his lover was sheltered most of the time so this might be her first experience being in a pseudo dungeon.

"Spooky." muttered Howzer as every time they walked down the long stairs, the torches on the walls would lit almost immediately. It was obviously the work of a magic device that when sensing any movements, the torches would lit up to help navigate around so as to not stumble or fall on the stairs.

Guila mostly kept her eyes to her surroundings while keeping an eye on Howzer given that she didn't trust him to not fall to his death. Although, she had to admit that she was very impressed and in awe at what she was seeing but something like this was quite expected of their prince.

Howzer seemed to have adjusted to his surroundings rather quickly and was enjoying himself quite a lot as he admired the entire design. "I wish I had a cool secret base." Thought Howzer, although he doubted he would be able to use it for anything useful if he managed to actually afford one in the future.

"The dungeon is surprisingly well designed." Thought Margaret to herself given that the walls were painted and not rusted out like what she had read in the books or from what she had heard from those who actually experienced a dungeon.

As much as Asta would have liked to make a stereotypical dungeon but he can't since the mansion they're currently standing on is one of the many mansions the Staria royal family owns which meant that the dungeon had existed even before his birth.
