RWBY: World Conflict{Remake}

Chapter 4

*Prague, Czech Republic*

Around the time the other nations were preparing to head into the Portal the Czech Military was in the vicinity discussing the expedition. The General in charge of the Czech forces heading into the portal is General Tomas Novák. General Novák is also the commanding officer of Task Force Rainbow the NATO Task Force created to help recon the world on the other end of the portal. He was currently finishing up a discussion on the plans for entering the portal. Along with him are General Leonardo Rossi of the Italian Army, General Antoni Nowak of the Polish Army, General Michael Kováč of the Slovakian Army, and General Manuel Sanchez of the Spanish Army. "So we all set yes?" General Novák asked and they nodded. "Yes. Let's head thru the portal and ensure there are no more of those beasts there!" Sanchez said and they nodded and after that they headed to the vehicles and headed into the forest. Strangely though all the soldiers here were wearing desert type camo as exploration of the Prague portal discovered that the Portal exited into a desert region so all soldiers were equipped with desert equipment and survival gear. The Convoy also consisted of several water trucks as water is scarce in the region. The convoy entered the portal and exited into the desert and from what they could tell there was nothing around but there were clear signs of the black beasts all throughout the sand and a few more have even exited the portal however as the area was locked down they were immediately dealt with. Now the 5 generals focused on defense but Novák walked over to a Polish Special Forces operator named Zofia Bosak and an Australian SASR operator named Captain Johnathan Langley. 

These two are members of Task Force Rainbow. "Thank you for coming."Novák said and they nodded. "No problem General! What do you need us to do?" Zofia asked. "I want you to take a team and scout around and see what you can find!" Novák said and they nod. "Right. We'll head out immediately." Langley said and the two left the temporary Headquarters and headed to gather a team to head out. "We got to be careful out there Zofia! We could wind up lost!" Langley said and she nodded in agreement. "I'd hate for us to get stuck out there and have to deal with more of black beasts!" Zofia said and Langley nodded in agreement. "I hear that." He replied and after a few minutes they were now heading out into the desert in dune buggies. There group consisted of four dune buggies. Two four seater buggies and two 5 seater buggies mounted with M240 Bravo Machine Guns. The four buggies headed off into the desert and after about 15 minutes they noticed what looked like a convoy up ahead but fire was rising from it. "Stop here!" Zofia said and the driver stopped the buggie before she stood up and leaned out to look through binoculars at the convoy. "Command Central this is Zulu-1. We've spotted a convoy of locals but it seems they're under attack by bandits! Permission to engage!" Zofia said and Novák came onto the radio immediately. "I read you Zulu-1. You're cleared to engage!" Novák replied and they nodded. "Roger that!" Zofia replied before they moved closer. 

As they moved closer one of the buggies stopped and a Czech 601st Special Forces Group Operator nicknamed Jestřáb or Hawk as he's called by English speakers got out of the buggy and crawled into a sniping position with his Accuracy International AWM Sniper rifle chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. He took aim at the bandits and watched as bandits dragged a family of three from their vehicle. The bandits started beating the father while forcing his wife and daughter to watch all the while feeling them up. "Zulu-1 if you don't get into position soon I'm going drop these guys soon!" Hawk said into the radio. "I read you Hawk! We're almost in position!" Zofia replied. Once they got into Position Zofia gave Hawk the signal to attack and he shot the bandit attacking the father. Not long after his rifle fired and the bullet hit the Bandit in the chest making him drop like a sack of potatoes Zofia and the other Task Force Rainbow operators attacked the other Bandits. The bandits were caught by complete surprise and before they even had a chance to react they were all lying in the desert sand dead. "All units check in!" Zofia said. "Clear!" An operator said. "Area clear here!" Another operator said. "Roger that! Area clear! Let's check on the civvies!" Zofia said and lowered her rifle before heading over to the woman and her husband who were both hugging their daughter. The man looked up at her. "Thank you! Thank you so much for saving us! But I must ask who are you guys? You don't look like Huntsmen but you also look like soldiers." The man said and Zofia nods and explained the whole thing to the man and his wife. 

The man didn't believe seem to believe what they said but decided not to question them. "So where is everyone heading too?" Langley asked and the man sighed and looked at the ground sadly. "We were heading to Vacuo after our homes were destroyed by Grimm! However we were attacked by bandits en route!" The man said looking at one of the dead bandits laying nearby. "I see. Well how far is this Vacuo? We might be able to escort you guys there!" Zofia asked. "Oh I'd say another day or two." The man replied and Zofia rubbed her chin. "We won't be able to take you that far! We'd run out of gas before we could make it!" Zofia replied. "Oh if you need more Dust we have plenty!" The man replied and Langley raised an eyebrow looking around at all the sand. "Uh Yeah! There sure is plenty of dust here but I don't see how that'll help us!" Langley replied and the man raised an eyebrow. "You don't know what dust is?" The man asked and Langley kicked the sand stirring up a small dust cloud. "Isn't it that?" He replied and the man nodded. "Well yes but I'm talking about a different dust. Here let me show you!" He said walking over to one of the crates thrown about and opened it before pulling out a canister that was about the size of an energy drink can and it had a light blue glow. "This canister holds dust! It's a type of energy used to fight Grimm and power vehicles!" The man said and they nodded as they looked at the canister. "Wait! You guys never heard of this stuff?" He asked and they just simply nod. "Yeah. If you don't mind can we ask you more questions?" Zofia asked and the man nodded. "Of course!" He replied. After that they asked more questions and finally decided to just lead them back to the portal where they'll be safe. They also helped answer questions the Generals had.
