Chapter 8

On Earth a city was under lockdown as right after black beasts rushed through a portal a coupe took place immediately after and a rogue faction took control over the country's government. It's been a month since the coupe took control over the government and had initiated a mandatory lock down making all civilians to stay inside their houses. They were claiming it was for their own safety as the Black Beasts were still coming through from time to time but the truth was that the team they sent to eliminate the leader of the country betrayed them and was now trying to get him to safety. "They've locked down the city! We can't get out!" One of the operators said. "They'd cut us down if we even tried to head to the airport!" Another said and the leader of the team sighed. "We're trapped and we have very few options!" He said as he looked at the man they were trying to protect. "Do you have any ideas sir?" He asked and he nodded. "There is one way we could get to safety!" He said and they looked at him. "You have an idea sir?" The team leader asked and he nodded and pointed to the portal in the city center. "We go through there!" He said and they looked surprised. "But sir that's extremely dangerous!" One of them said and he looked at him. "More dangerous then staying in a city where we'll be found sooner or later?" He replied and the team leader looked at him. "That's a valid point. Alright then! We'll steal that armored car there and make a dash for the portal!" The team leader said and they nodded. They then sneaked over to the vehicle and the team leader hot wired the vehicle while two members of his squad secured the HVI. However as he was hot wiring the vehicle they were spotted. "There they are! Kill them!" A soldier yelled and opened fire on them as more joined them. "Get this thing started! I'll keep them at bay!" His squad mate yelled over the gunfire before manning the heavy machine gun mounted on top of the vehicle. Luckily it had a belt of ammo already loaded into it so he opened fire on the soldiers rushing them.

The operator on the machine gun laid down suppressing fire as the squad leader got the vehicle running and they sped off while the one on the gun continued to open fire on the pursuing soldiers. They rushed the portal and one of the soldiers by the portal tried to stop them but the squad leader just ran him over and drove the armored car through the portal. They entered a world they had no clue about.

*Kingdom of Vale*

General Macmillan was meeting with the council about the upcoming peace talks between America, Canada, and Menagerie. "So the upcoming peace talks will be going live on news channels across Earth and we are able to put them on the scrolls and television systems here in Vale if you'd like." Macmillan said and the council nodded. "Very well. We'd like to see how the peace talks go. Especially given how Faunus are wary of Humans." One said. Macmillan nodded and could tell one didn't really like the idea of Earth becoming friendly with Faunus but it seemed the councilman was smart enough to keep that to himself. Macmillan internally sighed. These people don't realize how much blood shed these Grimm have saved them from! They really need to get over all this hatred! Macmillan thought to himself. Macmillan continued to debrief them before finishing up and leaving. He returned to Patch and walked to his office when Cayman walked into the office. "Sir I'm here to give you the report about the supplies we delivered to the people in town?" Cayman said. "Right. Thank you Sergeant Gould." Macmillan said as he took the file from him. "Captain Walker is also on his way back from helping the people in Vale secure the perimeter of the city from some Grimm getting to close." He replied and Macmillan nodded. "Very good." He replied and went back to his work as Gould leaves.

Gould headed to meet up with teams RWBY and JNPR as they had been hired to hep with the training on how to deal with Grimm. Weiss Schnee was currently giving them a lesson on the weak spots to King Taijitu. A large 2 headed snake that is very fast and agile and was powerful enough to crush a small house. So Weiss was explaining the best places to shoot it with small arms as anything that's .50 caliber or higher will punch through it's scales but 7.62 and 5.56 will have to hit certain areas to kill them. So Weiss was telling them where to aim. They also made these into notes to give to the other countries so they'd know how to handle them. Thanks to the help of several different huntsmen they were able to easily deal with weaker Grimm a lot easier and could now keep Grimm from the portals easier. As far as figuring out how the Portals were created though the scientists were still researching this. However they were able to detect a strange energy reading from the portals.
