RWBY: World Conflict{Remake}

Chapter 5

{A/n: Hey everyone Roach here with another chapter! DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT own RWBY!}

*Sydney, Australia*

The Australian and New Zealand Militaries were preparing to enter the portal located in Sydney. The Officer selected to lead the Australian Forces into the portal is General Duke Smith. He's also the dedicated leader of Task Force Trident. A Task Force consisting of NATO Special Forces operators to assist in their mission. As for the New Zealand General his name is General Charlie Wilson and is actually good friends with Duke as they've participated in joint training exercises together in the past and had a decent understanding of each other's train of thought. So thanks to that they managed to flawlessly get the Convoy set up to head out when the Field commander of Task Force Trident walked over. He was an American Delta Force operator named Captain Cedrick Ferguson. "General Smith sir! Task Force Trident is ready to move out!" Cedrick said and Smith nodded. "Right! Then since everything is under control lets move out!" Smith said and they nodded and loaded up into the convoy and headed through the portal. When they exited they found themselves in a lightly forested area and the MBTs that were in the front took up defensive positions. Once they were sure they were safe the soldiers went to work on setting up the base to protect the portal from the Black Beasts getting through again.

Meanwhile Smith had ordered Task Force Panther to scout the area to see what they can find. After a few minutes of driving around through the forest Cedrick's driver stopped the hummer. "What's wrong 30K?" Cedrick asked and he motioned his head to in front of them but above the trees. "You see that boss?" He asked and Cedrick looked to where he was looking and saw thick black smoke rising above the trees not to far ahead of them. "Smoke! Something is going on up ahead!" Cedrick said and 30 nodded. "Shall we go check it out?" 30 asked and Cedrick nodded. "Yeah! Let's get going!" Cedrick said and he nodded and started driving towards the location of the smoke. "Zeus this is Hunter-1! We've spotted smoke rising through the trees and are currently en route to investigate!" Cedrick said into the radio. "Hunter-1 this is Zeus! I read you loud and clear! Be careful out there!" Smith replied. "Roger that! Hunter out!" Cedrick replied and they sped to the smoke. When they arrived at the location of the smoke they found a village that looked like it had just been attacked. Bodies of the same Black Beasts that swarmed Earth were laying strewn about slowly dissipating into dust. The town was badly damaged and there were people trying to tend to injured or rescue trapped people in buildings. 

Their hummers rolled up to the town and someone with a sword pointed it at them. "Hold it right there bandits!" The man said trying to protect the town. "What should we do Boss?" 30 asked and Cedrick looked at him. "Hold fire! Let's not cause any bloodshed if we can avoid it!" Cedrick replied and 30 nodded as Cedrick got out of the hummer holding his hands up and showing his hands were empty. "Easy! We're not bandits!" Cedrick said walking towards them a bit before stopping just in front of the bumper of the hummer. The huntsman then noticed Cedrick was wearing a military uniform and realized they were soldiers and not bandits. "What the?! Soldiers out here?" He said in surprise. "It's kind of a long story! One that can wait till after people are safe!" He said and the Huntsmen nodded in agreement. Cedrick turned to the Hummers. "Patch! Scythe! Go help the wounded!" He yelled and a woman with a British flag on her right arm got out and a man with a German Flag on his uniform got out of the hummers and rushed into the town. "30 take Harper, Archer, Longcaster, and Mage and set up a perimeter! The rest of you assist with search and Rescue!" Cedrick said and everyone went to do their jobs.

"Zeus this is Hunter-1! You copy?" Cedrick said into the radio. "Hunter-1 this is Zeus! I copy! What's your sitrep?" Smith asked. "We've found a local village in the area and it was attacked by the Black Beasts. The town seemed to have survived but there's a lot of casualties and people trapped. Any chance we can get some support over here?" Cedrick said. "Roger that! It might take some time but we can get you some support!" Smith replied. "Roger that! Hunter out!" Cedrick replied and after that he went to help. "You guys definitely aren't from Atlas are you?" The huntsmen said as he helped Cedrick look for trapped civilians. "Safe to say no we're not. To tell the truth we're new to this area!" Cedrick replied and the Huntsmen nodded. "Oh? Where you guys from?" He asked and Cedrick looked at him. "That's a long story. It should wait till after we've rescued everyone!" Cedrick replied and he nodded in agreement. 30 minutes after this conversation though 5 vehicles from the Australian and New Zealand Armies showed up. As soon as the convoy stopped a woman with blonde hair and green eyes looking to be in her late 30s to early 40s jumped out of one of the vehicles and started giving orders to several soldiers. "I want the first aid tent set up here! Get those medical equipment out as quickly as possible! Be very careful with them!" She said to them. 

Cedrick recognized her as one of the New Zealand Army's Doctors who came through the portal with them. Though she wasn't any ordinary doctor. She is the commanding officer of the entire Medical team on the expedition. Her name is Lieutenant Colonel Amelia Jones and has a doctorate. She even volunteered to go through the portal on this expedition because she wanted to aid the soldiers going through and save lives. It was safe to say that thanks to her quick reaction time fewer deaths happened in the town and several villagers were saved. After several long hours of searching just about all unaccounted for Villagers were found. There were still some missing but there's no telling what happened to them in the chaos. For now though the Village chief and the Huntsmen in the village were talking to General Smith and General Wilson about who they are and where they're from. General Smith and General Wilson managed to get a lot of information about this new world. They even managed to make a good relationship with the villagers of this village.
