A crime next door

Ae's POV:

We had dinner at the dining table with Can since I didn't want Pete to miss the fun of eating on dining table with everyone. The people working in the house seemed to like Pete because they were being really nice to him and Pete was talking to them really politely.

After the dinner, I ushered Pete to the room and then handed him the pyjama to change and guided him towards the bathroom. I waited outside the door while he changed thinking about who would be behind Pete.

After a while, I heard Pete calling me and I opened the door and helped him out. This was a new place for him and it would take him a while to get adjusted to it. I picked him up and carried him towards the bed and gently lay him down on the mattress. This felt much more beautiful than I have ever thought. I just had a feel of being married to this beautiful person and carrying him in my arms. But it was a thought for another time so I pushed it to the back of my mind while I moved to switch off the lights.

I returned back to bed and then slipped next to Pete, pulling the duvet to cover us and wrapping my arms around him. "Pete, are you comfortable being here?" I asked. "I am more than comfortable being next to you Ae..." he said while snuggling closer to me and resting his head on my chest. I held him close while I closed my eyes letting myself sink into the deep slumber.

The next morning when I woke up, Pete's arms were still wrapped around me. I stroked his back gently while sighing in content. After a while, I felt a little movements and I loosened my grip around him. Pete stirred in his sleep yawning cutely while snuggling closer to me.

I heard a little murmur coming from him and didn't know what he was saying. "I can't hear you properly." I said. "I was asking what time is it." He repeated. "It's 8.30 am." I replied. He got up abruptly, sitting on the bed while rubbing his eyes. "What happened?" I asked a bit worried. "It's already past 8.30 am!!" he exclaimed. "So?" I asked in confusion.

He kept quiet for a while and I can see his facial expression change. "Oops... I forgot that I am staying at your place." He spoke in a low voice. I smiled upon hearing it. "You can catch some more sleep. There is no hurry." I said while pulling him close and stroking his back. He leaned into me, closing his eyes and then soon felt asleep.

When he woke up, I ushered him to the bathroom to get clean up and then waited outside till he called me. I was a bit worried that he might bumped into something and harm himself but everything was completely fine. After he was done, he called me and I hurried to help him out.

After breakfast, Pete wanted to return back to his house so I decided of dropping him there. I informed Can that I will be late since I was going to go along Pete and stay with him till he was done before proceeding to the club.

I drove through the streets and finally we arrived at the familiar view where Pete's house was located. I parked at the side lane and then hurried to help Pete step out of the car before proceeding to lock the car and walking in the direction of the house.

As we were just few steps away, I saw a figure approaching us. His eyes were fixed on Pete before they got diverted towards me. "P'Pete, where have you been?" the person asked with a tone that almost made it sound like scolding. "N'Dew... Ae invited me to his place yesterday so I stayed there overnight." Pete replied.

"You should have at least told us. Mom is worried." Dew said. "Ow... It's just an overnight stay na, don't be worried." Pete tried to calm him down. "It's not that Pete. I am worried because of the people with whom you are spending your time these days. I hope you know what you are doing." Dew said. I gritted my teeth while looking at him as his piercing gaze landed on me.

"DEW!!" Pete's voice had a possessive edge as he called out for the person leaving both of us shocked. "You are not allowed to say something like that. This is not the way your mother have taught you to speak." Pete was trying to be calm and make the other person understand.
