Hey y'all! It's been a while.

~~~
Kubo squeezes his eye shut and gritted against his teeth. His ears can hear nothing but snapping and popping all over his body, causing him to hiss at the tightening grip of the Moon Beast's tail around his small frame. He attempts to wriggle himself out despite the agony of squirming against his broken bones.
He chokes and coughs desperately under his quivering breath. He feels his heart begging for air, making the burning pain on his chest worse with his lungs clashing with his cracked ribs. As much as he needs to keep fighting, the pain was too extreme for him to take.
"You want to be human? Then share their weakness! Suffer their humiliation! Feel their pain!" The Moon King roars at Kubo, lavishing at the weakening mortal body of his grandson.
Kubo's eye rolls behind his head, feeling his body betray him, sensing his conciousness slowly slip away as his mind ran out of air.
The Moon King releases him, letting his frail young body fall to the ground without remorse.
Kubo barely even flinched as his entire being collides with the ground. He was too scared, too weak to even move an inch, devastated by the overwhelming pain on every fiber of his body.
The Moon Beast raises his tail up on the air, girding itself for another hit, nothing but cold blood running through his unearthly body. Kubo only caught a glimpse as the Moon Beast's tail slams against him at full force, finally knocking his senses out for good.
~~~

White noise filled his ears. He didn't dare open his eye. In an instant, he feels his body submerged into a plane of nothingness. Suddenly, all the tremendous pain he was feeling started to ease out of his body, as if nothing had happened moments ago. Did I die? He immediately asks. Despite the fact, he feels his heart sink, cursing himself for failing his parents and all the sacrifices they did to keep him safe; to keep him alive.

Before he could get properly mad at himself, his surroundings changed in a split second. The ground beneath him transformed into a grass-like texture, as the white noise in his ears dissolved into a peaceful ambience. The wind whistles through what sounded like branches of trees, almost as if he's in a forest.

Suddenly, he feels something moving beside him. That alone was enough for his mind to trigger his sense of fear. Whatever made that sound, it was close to him. His hearing and sense of touch won't be enough to protect him. With a quick breath in, Kubo opens his eye and prepares to throw some punches to whatever was near him, raising his arms up to defend himself.

As he looked around, what he saw... confused him.

He was sitting near a big willow tree in an area around the middle of the forest. He's sitting beside a little girl around his age. She wore a black dress. She had long dark hair that grows to her back, with an open book resting on her lap, as if she was just recently reading it.

"Oh no! I'm sorry I woke you up!" She apologizes frantically. As her gaze lingered on him, the worry on her face began to fade away. She tilts her head as her thick brows knit together.

Kubo takes a minute to stare into her bright blue eyes; he could tell that she was just as confused as he is.

"Who are you fighting?" She questions. Kubo's face flushes, forgetting that his arms are still up in defense.

"N-no one," he replies swiftly as he slowly brings his hands down to the ground. He fiddled with the grass between his fingers as he comb through his thoughts, trying to get his mind to think straight.
