"We'll stick to tradition, won't we?" Her blue eyes scanned the piece of parchment, her lips set into a thin line.
"Yes, the bride and groom don't get to see each other until the Bride walks down the aisle in the church."
"Even the night before the wedding day?" Kubo asks with a pout. The receptionist shakes her head with a sigh.
"No can do, sir," she says with an apologetic frown as she rolls up the parchment. "That's all I have to say. Good luck to you two tomorrow!"
The four of them watched as the receptionist walked away from the room, closing the door shut behind her. Kubo frowns as he wraps his arms around Aggie's torso and taps his chin on top of her head.
"Don't be such a man baby!" Coraline says in a teasing tone. Kubo's frown curved deeper in her response.
"Give him a break, Jonesy," Wybie chuckles. Kubo sticks his tongue out to the blue haired woman, making the others laugh.
"D'aww." Aggie lets out a laugh as she places a hand on top of her groom. She can easily imagine the adorable frown forming on his face. "Don't worry, it'll just be for the night."
"Aggie's right." Wybie points to his sister. "After the wedding, she's all yours," he says with a smirk.
Kubo brings a curled fist to cover his mouth and stifles his laugh. Aggie meanwhile reaches for the nearest thing she can get her hands on and immediately throws it towards Wybie.
"Ow!" Wybie shouts, rubbing his shoulder playfully. "It's just a pillow," she snorts with a grin.
"To be fair, your throw is very good, my dear," Kubo says before quickly placing a kiss on top of her head. Aggie nods her head and hums in agreement, leaning against his frame with a sweet smile making its way on her face.
Wybie clears his throat. "We better get some rest," he says in a hurry, giving his sister a peculiar look on his face.
Aggie catches his gaze. She stares at her brother for a brief moment, trying to read his eyes.
"Wybie's right," she breathes out as she lifts her head upward to the clock on the ceiling. "We need to sleep."
Kubo looks down at her and smiles. "Of course," he says with a smile, before unwrapping his arms from her.
"Remember, we all have to sleep in different cabins," Coraline smirks. "I'd doubt Kubo can even manage."
Aggie turns to Kubo, expecting a snarky remark from her soon-to-be husband. The one-eyed man only chuckles. "It's part of tradition," he shrugs. "I can't argue with that."
Coraline's eyes grow wide. "Ooh," she comments with a smirk. "Going for something new tonight, aren't we?"
"After tomorrow, I'll become a different man," Kubo tells her as his gaze lands on Aggie. "Might as well start now, rather than later." Aggie smiles at his words.
"How sweet," Coraline says as she crosses her arms. "Thank you," Kubo replies with a grin.
"Alright, that's enough bantering from you two," Aggie says as she stands up from her seat.
"Finally," Wybie says with a long sigh. "I thought I'd have to grab a gun to shut them both up."
"I was really hoping that you wouldn't," Aggie says with a shake of her head.
"Well," Kubo lets out a long whistle, "he might if Coraline and I don't get going," Kubo says.
The blue haired girl's gaze went from Kubo, then to the siblings, then back to Kubo, before nodding her head in agreement.
