Adora stood there in front of her bedroom door, her hand on the door handle. She was excited and terrified at the same time, excited at the idea of seeing her childhood friend and regaining her friendship with her, but terrified that nothing would ever be the same again.
Finally, she decided to open the door and immediately felt her heart beat extremely fast at the sight of the feline unpacking her suitcase and hanging her clothes on the hangers and putting them in the largest closet in the room. Catra felt Adora's gaze stare at her.
"Are you done staring at me with that stupid look?" said the feline.
"Sorry..." said Adora looking at her feet. The two beds in the room were very close to each other. Adora walked over to her bed and started unpacking her suitcase.
"I left you the little wardrobe since you wear the same thing almost every day anyway." said the feline still without giving the blonde a glance.
"Euh-Actually Catra, I decided a few months ago that I was going to start changing clothes often so I wouldn't-" Adora was cut off by Catra
"I don't care!"
The cat girl threw off the outfit she had in her hand and went to the bathroom, slamming the door behind her. Catra was frustrated.
Frustrated that she was mad at Adora but couldn't stop looking at Adora's biceps as the students gathered outside the building, wanting the blonde's muscular arms to hold her tight and never let her go, wanting to drown in Adora's sky blue eyes and most of all feeling that warmth in her lower belly. Catra didn't understand and didn't want to understand this feeling she felt.
The feline dropped to her knees and tears of anger and frustration came out of her face. It was the first day and she already couldn't stand being around Adora.
'What is this idiot doing to me ?' thought the cat girl.
Suddenly, while Catra was engrossed in her thoughts, someone knocked on the bathroom door.
"Catra? I don't know what you're doing, but are you almost done ? I really need to use the the toilets now." said Adora.
Catra opened the door, pushed Adora out of the way and jumped onto her bed. Adora ran into the bathroom. Catra took her blanket and put it around her and started playing on her phone.
Catra loved playing Gangster Vegas because, in this game she could beat up anyone she wanted, even the police. She could also steal cars and have guns. It was her own little world and no one could bother her.
Adora came out of the bathroom and lay down on her bed. For her, The Sims was the game that Adora loved the most. A simple world with rules and everything structured. Adora liked following the rules.
She finally turned back to the feline who was still in bed with a blanket around her, playing on her phone.
"So... how have you been since-" Adora was interrupted again by the feline.
"Since you left me?" said the cat girl but Adora didn't answer.
"I'm sorr-"
"I don't need you to be sorry Adora."
A silence appeared in the room. Catra finally broke the silence
"I'm fine."
"What?" said Adora, glad that she could finally have a conversation with her childhood friend.
"You asked me how I've been since then, and I said I was fine and I'm fine. Do you really think I need you in my life to be happy?!"
The angry Catra was about to resurface to yell at Adora until Adora got up and sat on the feline's bed. Catra's heart began to race as she could smell Adora's body smell , and that smell was a delight.
"I'm glad you've been happy all this time." a soft smile appeared on the blonde's face. For a few seconds, they just stared at each other without saying anything.
"I think we should get some sleep. Tomorrow we have a long program ahead of us." said Adora as she got up from Catra's bed and walked over to hers.
"Whatever."
"Good night Catra." said Adora but Catra didn't answer.
