A little more than friends

Chapter 6 : the beach day

It's been a few days since Catra left the dorm room she shared with Adora. The two girls were no longer speaking to each other.

Adora and Catra were in class. Adora, like every day since Catra's departure, didn't pay the slightest attention to the feline, even though deep down it hurt her terribly to ignore the feline. Catra on the other hand, didn't like at all the fact that the blonde ignored her

'Was I being to hard on her ? Ugh! If only I could remember what I said to her when I left the room.' thought the feline.

What bothered her even more than Adora ignoring her, however, was Jake.

Jake spent all his time with Adora. He never let go of her. Often he would whisper things in her ear that made Adora laugh. Catra couldn't stand that guy.

'I should have let Gary kill him when we were at the bar.' she thought pulling out her claws.

"And don't forget kids, this afternoon, meet in front of the school for the field trip to the beach." the teacher said before finishing his class.

"The beach?!" shouted Catra.

"Yes, yes, the beach. I've said it a million times Catra. It's been several weeks since classes started, so the students have organized a day at the beach to relax. We'll go this afternoon by school bus." the teacher explained.

"And can we not come?" asked Catra.

Before the teacher could answer, Jake whispered something in Adora's ear. Obviously, with her much more developed hearing than humans, Catra had heard what he said.

"Do you want to sit next to me on the school bus?" he asked.

Catra wanted to throw her kit in his face.

Adora didn't particularly want to sit next to Jake.

Since Catra left the room, the blonde had not been well. She often had nightmares or panic attacks. Her friends, Bow and Glimmer, were worried about her. Having Jake around all the time bothered her a little. But she didn't want to hurt her friend.

"Yeah if you want." said Adora.

The teacher was about to answer Catra's question when the feline said

"Never mind. I'll come after all."

"Perfect. You kids can go back to the dorms. Get your beach suits. See you later."

The students grabbed their stuff and left the classroom. On the way out of the classroom Adora had received a trip from Catra, she fell and Jake walked up to Catra.

"What do you want dumbass." said Catra.

"I want you to stop bothering Adora. You and your bad reputation are only bothering Adora's reputation."

"I'm doing what I fucking want to do. And I'm gonna tell you one last time nerd, stop poking around Adora like a little dog. Can't you see it's upsetting her?" the feline said as she pulled out her claws.

Jake pushed Catra against the lockers. He grabbed her wrists, pinned them against the lockers with one hand and put his other hand on the feline's hips.

"All I'm trying to do is cheer her up. I know what's good for her."

"You don't even know her like I do."

"I know her well enough to know that you're a toxic friend to her!"

Catra was about to bite him when Glimmer yelled. (Glimmer and Bow had been there all along. )
