"Wh-what?" I stutter out as I feel my face turning red, again. "Whatever, we gotta get going so we don't miss our bus." I reach for my shirt and shoes and put them back on. I look over and Shitty Hair is doing the same. I then grab my bag and start walking back the way we came. I've only gone a couple of steps before he's right next to me.
We catch the bus without any problems and ride back the same way, listening to music. We get off at our stop and start the walk back to campus.
"So, um, when do I get to see the surprise?" He asks as we get to the steps.
"Well." I start, as we walk into the building. "First thing we both have to do is get cleaned up and changed. Wear something nice but not too fancy. Then meet me on the rooftop at 5:00."
"The rooftop? In something nice?" He asks with a very confused look on his face.
"Don't ask questions. It'll ruin the surprise." I answer. We both step into the elevator. "But make sure you're on time and not early. You can't be there before it's time. Alright."
We step out on our floor and start walking towards our own rooms. As he gets to his door, he stops and looks my way.
"So, um, I guess I'll see you at 5?" He says as more of a question.
I smirk at him, "You sure will." Then I step into my room.
I grab my clothes that I picked out earlier, get my shower stuff, and dash out my door to go get ready as quickly as possible. I don't want him to see me until we're up on the roof. After the quickest shower of my life, I get dressed, and take the stairs up to my room. I throw my dirty clothes in the basket and drop my shower bag on my dresser. I take a peak out my door to make sure the coast is clear and then run to the stairs to go up to the roof.
I walk out the door and my jaw drops. "Mina, you have really outdone yourself!" I exclaim.
She turns towards me with a squeal. "You really like it?" She asks.
"It's perfect." I say as I look around.
She has strung up at least 10 strands of fairy lights. They are hanging above a small table that is set for a candlelight dinner for two. Past that she has about a dozen pillows in a heap with some blankets sitting next to them.
"Ok, so Sato made you two dinner and dessert. The switch for the lights is near the door and I've set up some speakers you can hook your phone to to play some music if you want. After you eat, you two lovebirds can go sit on the pillows to gaze at the stars." She then looks back at me and winks. "Or gaze at each other, or, you know, what ever." She then starts giggling.
"Ha ha, very funny." I roll my eyes at her. "Seriously, though, this looks amazing and I can't thank you enough. Now please leave. He should be here in a few minutes."
"I'm going, I'm going." She waves her hands at me as she walks to the door. She starts to walk out and then looks back with a devilish grin on her face. "Have fun loverboy." She then slammed the door behind her but I could still hear her giggles.
I shake my head at head and take another look around the roof. I glance at my watch and see that it's 4:57. Only a few more minutes until he gets here. I start to get nervous and then I start to overthink things.
What if he only likes me as a friend. What if he doesn't even like guys at all. What if he doesn't want to be my friend after I confess how I feel.
I run my fingers up and through my hair and let out an exasperated "Ugh!" just as I hear the door start to open.
"Bakugo?" I hear Shitty Hair call out. "You ok?"
I turn around and he's standing at the door. At first he was looking at me, but then he started to look around the roof in wonder.
He looks so fucking hot. He has on some black, tight fitting, ripped jeans, a red tank top, and a black and red flannel over it.
He looks back at me and asks "Is, is all this for...me?"
The look in his eyes washes away my fears. I walk over until I'm standing directly in front of him. "Yes, Kirishima, this is all for you." I reach down with my left hand and grab his right hand. I look into his eyes and take a deep breath.
His eyes start to become glossy with unshed tears as he looks back at me. "Bakugo..." he whispers.
"Eijiro," I start. "You are my best friend. You are also my very favorite person in the world. You're strong and manly. But you're also kind and compassionate. You are amazing in so many ways. And I am so lucky to have you in my life."
I pause to take a breath and see a tear slowly make its way down his cheek. "Baku-"
"Call me Katsuki." I interrupt.
He huffs out a small laugh. "OK, Katsuki. I can't believe you would say all those things about me."
"I'm not done yet." I say. "Is my hair still red?"
He looks up at my hair with a confused look on his face. "Um, yeah?" He says as a question.
"I thought so." I say with a small smirk on my face. "For this quirk to go away, I have to tell people my feelings. And it can't be done half way. I have to tell all of my feelings."
His voices slightly cracked as he asked, "All of your feelings, you mean, there's more?"
I nod my head as I reach my right hand up to cup his cheek. He leans into my touch as I continue, "You're smart, and funny, and sweet, and caring. Not to mention that you're hot as hell." His eyes grew wide then. "And it's all of these things and so much more that made me fall for you." I paused as I took in the look of pure happiness on his face. "Eijiro, I'm in love with you."
