unknown POV
I stumbled across a pale girl. She was smaller than me & shined very brightly. She was wearing a beret which made me chuckle. She was dressed just like a French girl, but she wasn't French.
Irene's POV continued:
The mysterious girl with black hair, Harry Potter glasses, and a plaid suit looked at me with a sly smile. "Oh, I'm just a new student here. Name's Jiu," she replied casually, extending her hand for a handshake. Her handshake was firm, and her grip felt strangely confident for someone so new to the school.
"Jiu, huh? Nice to meet you," I said, though I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to her than met the eye.
As Jiu and I started walking towards the school building together, she began to chat about various topics, from favorite books to hobbies. She seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me, but her questions were oddly specific at times. It was as if she had done her homework on me, which was a bit unsettling.
Inside the school, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Students were reuniting with friends, sharing stories about their summer vacations, and discussing their expectations for the new semester. It was all so normal, yet there was an underlying sense of anticipation that I couldn't quite place.
Jiu and I parted ways as we entered the crowded hallway. I made my way to my locker, where I found a surprise waiting for me. Tucked between my textbooks was a small envelope with my name on it. Curiosity piqued, I opened it to find a handwritten note.
"Irene, meet me at the rooftop after school. I have something important to discuss. - A Friend"
The note was unsigned, which added to the mystery. Who could have left this for me, and what could be so important that it required a secret meeting on the rooftop?
Throughout the day, my mind kept drifting back to the note and Jiu's peculiar introduction. There was an unusual energy in the air, and I couldn't help but feel that this semester was going to be anything but ordinary.
Little did I know that this day would mark the beginning of a series of events that would change not only my life but the lives of everyone at our school.
