Seulgi's P.O.V:

Weeks had passed since the mysterious rooftop meeting, and despite Irene's attempts to uncover the truth behind it, I continued to live my life as if nothing had changed. I had learned to navigate the relentless waves of bullying at school with stoic indifference.

Each day felt like a blur of insults, whispers, and laughter at my expense. The bullies' words had lost their power over me, and I had grown accustomed to their cruel games. I couldn't fathom why someone like Irene would go to such lengths to investigate a mystery that seemed to have no significance in the grand scheme of things.

One chilly afternoon, as I sat alone in the school cafeteria, Irene approached me once more. Her determination was unwavering, but my skepticism remained firmly in place.

"Seulgi, we need to talk," Irene said, her expression serious.

I sighed, setting down my tray of food. "Irene, I appreciate your efforts, but I've told you before, I don't believe in all this mystery stuff. I'm just trying to get through each day."

Irene took a seat across from me, her eyes filled with empathy. "Seulgi, I understand how you feel, but I can't ignore the possibility that someone is trying to reach out to us for a reason. I've gathered some information, and I think I know who's behind it."

I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "You do? And who is it?"

She hesitated for a moment, as if searching for the right words. "It's the new girl, Jiu"

I couldn't hide my surprise. Jiu, the new girl who had joined our class recently? "Jiu? Really.. why would she care about us?"

Irene leaned in, her voice low. "Seulgi, I can't explain it all now, but I believe Jiu has a good reason for bringing us together. Please, just hear me out."

I shook my head, my skepticism undiminished. "Irene, my life has been like this for so long. I don't see how any of this could change anything."

Irene's gaze held mine, unwavering. "Seulgi, sometimes, even the smallest acts of kindness or connections can have a profound impact. Please, just give it a chance. We don't have to believe, but we can at least listen."

Reluctantly, I agreed to hear Irene out, though my skepticism and doubts still weighed heavily on my mind.
