Uncovered Disguise

It's been more than 2 years since, Pandora is a proud and happy 17 year old. She's begun to notice how Lucifer would frequently visit the lady, it was odd considering she was simply the daughter of a Viscount and she was not even inheriting the title. She decided to push it aside and focus on other things, such as her studies and her dear bat. These past years, she had gotten close to it and gave the bat a name. Amor was the name, and the bat seemed content with the choice.

She often noticed how Amor would follow her around and how she would hide whenever she turned around. It was nice to know that she wasn't planning on leaving her any time soon, but it was weird for her to be so attached. Perhaps she was just like a pet. It was weird how the book mentioned bats being these strange creatures who shapeshift; whether it's hybrids, vampires, or incubi. It rarely spoke about normal bats. Well, it wasn't that strange as this wasn't a book about normal things.

Pandora has yet to confirm if Amor is just a bat or something else, but she didn't mind. After all, they were friends, hopefully. But these past few days, she's noticed that Amor might not be a bat, seeing her actions has made her more paranoid about it. The small mammal has been flying outside in the middle of the night and she's noticed it doing weird things. Things such as going to a certain boy's house and coming back home early in the morning.

Well, it was about then that she had made the decision to test it out. To make sure if Amor was truly a bat or if she was more than that. After 2 years, she's finally found the way to figure it out. She had to search the library thoroughly to find this, and make sure that Amor wasn't lying. Well, she wasn't lying but she didn't say anything... Oh, she can't say anything.

Nonetheless, she will have to be cautious when testing it out. Amor rarely ever let her guard down and went to sleep, and she only ever did in the afternoon. This was her chance, but she felt guilty for having to do this. No, she should. If she really isn't a bat, then it'd be better if they could stay friends, no matter what she turned out to be. Amor was special, she can't just ignore this opportunity to find out more about her.

How will she do it?
By shoving a mirror into her face.

Yes, she had to get prepared. To do something like this takes strength and a lot of effort, despite how easy it sounds. First of all, the frame has to be made of silver and the mirror must be a one-sided mirror. If it were two-sided, it wouldn't work because that's already classified as a window. And the frames can't be made of anything other than silver because silver is a big weakness of incubus and vampires, obviously. This was all she needed to know, and she conveniently happened to have the perfect mirror by her side. Nothing to worry about here.

Now, she needs to wait until Amor falls asleep. This doesn't take too long because Amor falls asleep really quickly. So she should just make sure she doesn't fall asleep first, how hard could that be? ...But, she did fall asleep first. And Amor was nowhere to be found, she was missing. Well, she was actually hiding beneath the blanket, but it still scared Pandora for a while.

Though, this was definitely her chance to find out. Still, she hesitated.

What will happen afterwards? What if Amor turns hostile? No... Stop it. Now isn't the time to be worrying, you've been waiting for your whole life so don't quit now. Just push it closer and then you're done, you'll worry when you find out if she is a bat or if she isn't.

She hastily took the mirror in her hand and gripped on tightly. Biting her lip, she pushed it towards Amor's face and waited. She took a huge swallow and took several deep breaths, then a familiar bright light engulfed the room and brightened the entire building. This was the light, the same light from when she opened the door, that same exact light was here once more.

It blew up as it filled every corner, then suddenly disappeared in a quick flash. It was silent for a while, until she opened her eyes to see a strange girl that was bundled up in her bed. She looked to be younger than her and definitely from a foreign country, and she was also very familiar. She knew who she was, she knew this was Amor. She had those same big and droopy ears with those sharp fangs, and the same large dark wings that hugged her body.

This was definitely Amor. She has finally come to her conclusion, the conclusion that Amor wasn't an ordinary bat like she always thought. But, what will she do now?

END.
