Honestly could any of it get any more confusing?
Who would've imagine that Pansy Parkinson of the slytherin house would be talking to a magic mirror about Draco's future friendship with Potter and the Weasleys to an older Hermione Granger.
"Please tell me that he finally got to do a handshake with Potter! The poor boy's been stressing half of his life over that" older Hermione could be heard laughing by that revelation.
"Hell yeah" Draco catched that coming from the mirror. Hermione cursing? That was new.
"You better believe that Harry also gave him shit for saying what he said"
The two girls, or well, girl and woman, kept talking and laughing through the magical object.
"Hey Hermione, aren't you supposed to be worrying about my son and Potter's little one?" Draco chimed into the conversation as he finally had enough of it. His son was missing! And for some reason he couldn't find any professor who knew of their children being there. "Oh Draco" he shivered by the first name calling. "Ron's already got his whole team onto it. I'm pretty worried too, but crying and being unrationally scared would do more harm than good. I have seen the time turner regulations and I can tell you with a hundred percent of certainty that your kid is fine and hasn't moved the timeline. I trust Mcgonnagal and Dumbledore, so whatever's happening will turn out okay."
Without any answer coming from the stressed boy, she kept saying "and I have placed a charm on the kids so they can literally tell if anyone is taking polyjuice potion, just because we already had a bad experience with that" Draco could easily see her shiver. He would absolutely be asking about that later. Draco was shocked of hearing her so calm, something he would have never expected. "So yes Draco, I'm not calm, I'm crazy worried for my nephews, but we better stay calm if we wants everything to turn out well"
"Well, I'm really desperate" He finally accepted it. "Scorpius seems like an actual nice kid and thinking about him being anywhere but with his family, is traumatic" Pansy looked at him with shock. She knew that Draco had a heart deep inside, but she didn't think he would ever show it, especially in front of Granger.
"Well, look" Hermione kept taking. "Can you find me Harry in your timeline? I know he could help us"
" I'll find Potter if it means I can find Scorpius"
...
"Ron!" Harry ran towards him through the filled corridors. Everyone tilted their heads to have a better look at a desperate Harry, since that was an unusual sight for almost everyone.
"Hey hey, what happened" Ron tried calming his best friend by grabbing his shoulders.
"I-no, Hermione found something"
He basically dragged Ron to an empty classroom, then placed a locking charm (although not very strong, would be beneficial for a couple of minutes) and started explaining with desperation.
"This wasn't an accident like they said it was" he tried saying between heavy breaths. "I'm almost certain that Voldemort or the Death eaters planned it, from Albus and Scorpius finding the glass of powder and everything that came after" Ron stared for a little while trying to find any sense into what Harry was saying.
"Look, I know it sounds insane, but why else wouldn't Dumbledore, Mcgonagall or Snape be at hogwarts today? They are literally the only ones that have seen the boys apart from us and they might also be in some sort of problem right now because of it! It just makes sense"
"And where's Hermione?" Ron finally responded.
"She's searching for more proof, although i don't know where exactly"
Ron nodded. If what Harry said was true, it meant that somehow it tracked back to them. Albus wasn't the chosen one, Harry was, so the plan must be to find Harry and probably try to kill him.
He who must not be named was looking for his best friend once again.
Then they heard a knock on the door.
"Look we are kinda busy here, so just find another place to snog" Harry said loudly with annoyance.
"It's me, Draco!" an aggressive voice said from the outside.
Quickly Harry unlocked the door, and stared flatly at the boy that came through it. Draco looked extremely tired. His hair wasn't styled like always, and surprisingly wasn't holding up his wand up to them.
It almost looked as he was scared.
"I know you've been looking for me or something, but I swear to Merlin that I've found essential information that will interest you. Now if you two would please follow me" the blond breathed out and signaled with his hands at the door.
"We know something too" Ron said, ignoring Harry's look of disapproval.
"Okay I guess thats interesting, but I'm pretty sure you two are going to be amazed by what I've found"
Something in Harry's mind told him that it would be better to listen to Draco now. Maybe even follow him to the slytherin common room.
So they did.
And before Ron could digest his own decisions, the door opened.
"Pansy! Come here" Draco motioned the girl to come closer. She was holding an object in both of her hands.
This shiny object, that was revealed to be a mirror finally gave away it's purpose.
"No bloody way" Ron was the first to speak. Or rather, whisper.
"Hi guys" Older Hermione said from the object.
And they talked. A lot. She calmly explained what she told Draco earlier to calm Harry down. The distress in Harry was concerning, so through the mirror she talked to him as a friend. As this happened, Ron catched up with Draco on how he discovered the object and if they were sure it was the real Hermione speaking. Thankfully, Pansy was on advanced charming class so a simple wave of her wand gave away that it was safe.
"So your telling me, that I must stay here and just do.. nothing?" Harry asked plainly. Surely it wasn't something he was used to doing.
"Exactly Harry. Try to relax a bit and stay close to your friend right now, and please don't try to find the kids without Dumbledore's directions. I know how these sort of thing end, so try to trust me"
"It's just- I don't know if I can. Knowing my son is out there probably suffering it's just concerning me"
....
"Scorpius you need to try this!" Albus licked the chocolate frog flavored toothpaste. "Scorp! C'mom stop playing with that thing and come taste this"
On the other side of the room, Scorpius was looking under the bed for a book that had dropped and magically disappeared. He guessed it was meant to be that way because it's title was "the vanishing book" .
Pretty self explanatory name.
