After the family game night, Kokichi was about to start a war, but Rantaro had managed to calm him down quickly, and prevented a world way against Nagito, who was laughing gently.
Now, Rantaro was staring at his phone, waiting for an update from Saihara. He knows Shuichi is on a dangerous mission, but he knows that he's in danger.
And he was more worried than he should be.
His heart ached with the familiar feeling of love. That sounded so corny, but it was true.
Rantaro had accidentally fallen in love with Saihara during the game, and those feelings refused to go away.
And now, he was anxiously waiting to know about Shuichi's fate. He gets up, putting his phone in his pocket and pacing for a few moments, before stopping to stare at the ceiling, hoping that the detective is alright. He groans, flopping onto his bed and putting his face in a pillow. He wanted a distraction, anything to stop him from thinking of Shuichi's possible death.
So, he stuffs his phone in his pocket, and walks out of his room.
"I'm heading out, Dad. I'll be back soon." Rantaro tells his father, before waving goodbye and leaving.
He walks along the streets absentmindedly, before stopping at an arcade. He remembers Saihara talking about dogs in great fondness, so enters the arcade, intending to find a claw machine.
Almost immediately, he scores jackpot. One of the first machines he sees is filled with stuffed animals. Rantaro walks over, bringing out his wallet and putting a coin into the machine.
He fails the first attempt, as expected, but he keeps persisting. He continues to put coins in the machine, trying to pick up one golden retriever stuffed animal.
At last, the claw takes hold of the plush, carrying it shakily to the shoot, and dropping it down. Rantaro grins in victory, collecting his prize before looking around the arcade. There were so many chances to earn prizes. It was the perfect time waster, with the added bonus of a joint cafe.

Saihara had collected all the information he needed. Kirigiri was recording everything on the other end, and his mission was over.
Now, getting out of there safely would be an issue.
Shuichi creeps along the corridors, ducking into empty rooms and all around staying hidden, but it was like a maze intended to never be escaped from.
Shuichi taps the button on his wrist that sends a distress signal to Kirigiri, telling her that he's stuck and needs help. Saihara then notices a flight of stairs. He glances around, before darting up the stairs, gun in hand. He didn't want to kill anyone, but he was aware that this situation was a life or death situation, and so he knew he wouldn't hesitate.
Fortunately, the stairs were completely empty. A stroke of luck, but Saihara was suspicious. Surely something this good couldn't be a coincidence.
However, his priority was to get out of there. Saihara continues to climb the stairs, finally seeing an exit sign saying "to the roof."
This nightmare was almost over.
Shuichi looks around, the dimly lit grey corridors completely empty. Then, he darts over to the door, pushing it open and taking a deep breath of air. Then, he pauses, realising what was off.
"Ah, Saihara. We've been waiting for you."
