Third Person P.O.V.

Ten Minutes Later...

"Do we have a concrete analysis on what happened, Lieutenant?" (Y/n) asks.

"Dunno, Navarro," Lieutenant Eckhardt murmurs. "No DNA left on either of the two, and the surroundin' perimeter was dead."

"So then who called the police on them?"

"Some lady these two mugged. She said some butterfly lady helped 'er and 'er kid an' that she healed 'er husban' too."

(Y/n) resists the urge to smile. "So Aponi was involved in this?"

Eckhardt scoffs. "Load of bullshit if you ask me. She's jus' like the bat, goin' and comin' when she wants. And her costume? How's a woman supposed to fight in tha'?"

"Just because she doesn't bring in criminals in a spandex suit doesn't mean she's weak. If anything, it's incredible she's able to do it in a dress."

"Navarro, you can't dress like tha' and expect people to take you seriously."

"Are you finished with your tangent?" (Y/n) asks. "Since Aponi's brought in other criminals, don't you think she could have stopped these two?"

His dead eyes glare into hers. "Dressed like tha' little skirt? No way."

"Lieutenant Eckhardt. Detective Navarro," one of the forensic scientists greets the two.

"Sir," (Y/n) nods with her notebook and pen in hand.

"Who do you think did this?" he asks. "Judging from the footprints found on the building, there was only two people at the crime scene. There's no fingerprints we found and nothing to indicate foul play."

"That doesn't leave us with much to go off," (Y/n) says.

Although she was there to prevent the criminals from escaping the building, (Y/n) still needed to act as oblivious as her partners at crime scenes involving Aponi to avoid creating suspicion against her. Balancing her work schedule and daily patrols was already stressful enough.

The paramedics tie down one of the crooks she knocked out onto a stretcher and wheel him to the ambulance to the right of (Y/n) and Eckhardt. The distressed groaning emitting from him is almost enough to make the detective feel sympathy for the man. Her face hardens and she turns her attention to her co-workers.
