Third Person P.O.V.

"Are you sure Gordon's here?"

"Yes. I just talked to him a few minutes ago."

Knox's eyes widen. "And you didn't tell me? Navarro!"

(Y/n)'s eyebrows raise. "I didn't know where you were. And besides, it was about matters that concerned only the people in the GCPD. I couldn't discuss it with you breathing down my neck."

"Again?" Vicki teases.

The detective glances at her. "Don't bring that up."

He groans. "We gotta find him. This might be our only chance."

"Uh, Knox," Vicki pipes up.

"Yeah?"

She points behind him at the poker table where most of the city's officials are gathered. Including Commissioner Gordon and his wife.

Knox's eyes light up. "You girls are geniuses! I'll be right back."

He scampers off to the table, causing the two women to laugh.

(Y/n) rolls her eyes. "Men."

She scoffs. "Tell me about it."

He pops up beside Gordon like a mole. "Commissioner! Mrs. Gordon, you look lovely!" He whips out a tape recorder. "How about that rumor that the commissioner's got a file on Batman and Aponi? That's not true, is it?"

Gordon chuckles. "Knox, for the last time, there is no bat and there is no butterfly. If there were, we found find them and arrest them."

(Y/n), watching with observant eyes, resists the urge to roll them, knowing full well her commissioner believes the two vigilantes are real.

Harvey Dent appears at the table, smiling. "How you making out, Gordon?"

He rolls another set of die. "No good at all."

"Mr. Dent, I love that tie," Knox addresses. "Uh, Gordon and I were discussing the pros and cons of winged vigilantes. What's your stance?"

Dent grins, holding a cigar. "Mr. Knox, we have enough problems in this city without worrying about ghosts and goblins."

"That's not...that's not a denial," Knox persists as Dent disappears into the giant crowd.

Gordon, clearly annoyed, pats his wife's hand. "Excuse me dear, I'll be back."
