2016, 𝚊𝚐𝚎 𝚝𝚠𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚢-𝚜𝚒𝚡I sprinted to the kitchen as soon as the explosion went off, grabbing my backpack. Once I had it, I ran back into Nat's waiting arms, hugging her tightly. Two women came from the ceiling, pointing laser guns all around the apartment.
They started shooting, and Yelena came running from another area, causing Natasha to let go of me, and slam her into a wall. Yelena turned a dial, and more bombs went off around various areas of the apartment.
The women attacked, and I quickly hit one with a vine, while Nat and Yelena knocked down the other one. My natural green eye was glowing, as well as my blue one, making the contact covering it difficult to wear. I didn't follow the other two right away, instead stopping to pull the contact off, leaving it discarded in the wreakage.
"What are you doing? Hurry up!" Natasha yelled to me, and I quickly sprinted to catch up with her and Yelena.
The three of us left the apartment, only to find more women waiting with guns drawn. They shot upon seeing us, and we all ducked, narrowly avoiding being shot. I heard Yelena throw a bomb down, and I sent more vines hurtling towards our assailants.
Natasha grabbed my arm, pulling me with her, running up stairs after Yelena. "Where are we trying to get?" Nat yelled as we ran.
"Motorbike! East side of the building!" Yelena yelled back, as more women shot.
We arrived at the top floor of the building, quickly climbing out of a window and onto a roof. Of course, I was experiencing my worst fear again. Heights.
I hesitated, and Natasha noticed. "I know you hate heights, but we have to go!" She shouted quickly, and I shook my head. There wasn't time to argue, because a woman was approaching us, fast.
I bit my lip harshly, before joining Natasha and Yelena in sliding down the roof. Our trio arrived at a large pillar, overlooking a courtyard of sorts. Yelena pulled a pin, and we grabbed on, just as the pillar fell.
Of course, our attacker made it on in time, and as she slipped, I grabbed her hand. "I've got you!" I shouted, about to form a vine to catch her, but she started slashing me with a knife.
I let go of her hand for a split second to avoid being cut, and she fell, screaming. Quickly, my eyes glowed again and a long vine was in my hand, attempting to grab her before she made contact with the ground. Due to my distraction, I was too late.
My vine was still active when the pillar crashed into a window, causing Yelena to go through the window, Nat to grab a ledge and fall, hitting object after object, and me to freefall through the sky.
I landed harshly on a dumpster, rolling off of it as soon as I landed, groaning the whole time. I stumbled to my feet, remembering that I was not indestructable. My feet moved before my brain realized it, and I staggered about, coming across Natasha, in the water with the dead girl, and Yelena, standing several feet away.
Yelena walked forward, holding the red vials in her hand, before looking to the ground sadly. "Do you believe me now?" She asked us, sadness in her small voice.
Natasha looked up at her, while I walked closer to the pair, retracting my vine. "How many others?" She asked desperately.
"Enough." Yelena said before she turned and jogged away.
Natasha got up and grabbed my hand, before we followed her. The three of us were now running down the streets of Bucharest, towards a row of motorcycles.
"Which one's yours?" My sister asked as we ran, and very quickly, I realized that I was going to have to figure out my own form of transportation.
"Black. Brown seat." Yelena answered, and I spotted it.
