2016The clock struck 6. The Princess and the Queen Mother were escorting the former assassin to the church. The church where the King and the soldier were waiting.
Alessia was nervous. She wanted this to work so badly that she couldn't even fathom would she would do if it didn't. She needed this to work, and deep down she knew it would, but her mind was so doubtful.
Bucky was calm, surprisingly. He knew that this would work, because in his eyes, the only thing that would change between them was her last name, and what they would be adressed as. He needed her as his wife, and his whole being knew that it would happen.
The trio of women arrived at the door. The men inside heard them approach. The Queen and the Princess walked inside first to take their places in the pews. The King joined them, greeting his family while they sat together. Two other women, and a toddler had also joined the Wakandans.
As a surprise, Shuri Udaku had called Sarah Scott, and had the Dora find Yelena Belova to support their best friend and adopted sister. They both accepted, but wanted it to be a surprise, as Alessia was fearful that they wouldn't make it. She didn't want anyone to go out of their way for her.
But Yelena Belova loved her sister so much, that her work freeing the Widows of the Red Room could wait. Unfortunetely, Natasha Romanoff couldn't sneak away from being on the run to see her sister. A choice that would only cause more issues.
Sarah and Alexander Scott were very happy to leave New York for a night to go see Alessia. A decision that would only put the pair at risk.
The soldier took a deep breath, clenching and un-clenching his new arm to relax himself. The former assassin hadn't had a chance to see the arm yet, and he hoped that she would be okay with it.
Alessia took one last breath, and pushed open the doors, to see the flower filled church, and Bucky waiting for her. As soon as she saw him, every negative thought and doubt she had floated out of her. And she smiled. A real smiled.
Bucky quickly looked up from the ground when he heard the door open, and every thought he had was confirmed. And he smiled. A real smile.
Alessia walked towards the front of the tiny church, not taking her eyes off the man in front of her. Except when she saw a woman with short brown hair, a younger woman with blonde hair, and a toddler sitting next to the King.
Her smile faltered into a look of shock, and then joy again when Yelena blew her a kiss, using Alexander's hand. She shifted her face back to Bucky, who was adorning a new limb.
Bucky smile grew at Alessia's excitement, and he knew it was the right choice to keep it a secret from her. He only wished Natasha would've come.
Alessia took her place across from Bucky, and she let her eyes look at his new arm in awe, before back up to his eyes.
"Welcome, family and friends, to the wedding of James Barnes, and Alessia Domoski." The sweet priest said, and Alessia immediately cocked her head and furrowed her brows.
Alessia looked at Bucky, who looked equaly confused. "They got the government name." Alessia whispered to him, who smiled. She then looked at Yelena, who was smirking.
"You?" She mouthed, pointing at her sister, who nodded and winked.
Alessia and Bucky both turned their attention back to the priest, who was continuing with the opening and the readings. This was a Cathloic ceremony, because Bucky had grown up Cathloic. His parents had always taken him and his sister, and sometimes Steve to church on Sundays. Afterward, they would all go to a park and spend time together. He cherished those times, and considering that Alessia didn't really have a religon, it just worked.
