Hiccup
————————————————
"You did it, Hiccup!! You get to kill the dragon"
Gobber leaped with excitement. He was grinning from ear to ear. It mirrored my fathers. Who, I think he was saying "my son", but I couldn't hear him over the crowd cheering. Astrid seems to be the only one that reflected my emotions. She looked as white as a sheet, but not as angry. Unlike what i had anticipated, She looked worried, and scared for me. But as soon as she locked eyes with me, she scowled, marching out of sight. I wanted to go after her. To apologise or something. To bring a smile back to her face, but at that moment I'm surrounded by the gang. I'm hoisted onto Snotlout's shoulders and bombarded by the overwhelming cheer of the crowd which quickly escalated getting even louder.

"Great. I'm so...''The rest of my sentence seemed to be Drowned out by the applause. I didn't say what I wanted to say. No one takes me seriously, now they look at me and see who they want to see. But it's not me.

...

Currently, I'm walking towards the cove. I had two options left. Ones that I could live with at least. One, I tame the monstrous nightmare and try to show everyone that dragons are not as bad as they are. Most likely ending in me getting disowned by my village and, father. before they kill Toothless and lock me in jail. Or option Two I leave to save my dragon's life.

I had already grabbed everything I would need if I chose that path. I enter to see toothless resting under a tree, he seems at ease. That is when I made my decision. Leaving. Toothless pops his head up "we are leaving, you and I are going on a little vacation...  Forever."

Movement to the left shifts my attention off toothless and to the boulder where Astrid is sitting shaping her axe. She seems to be calm and collected, which means she is more dangerous than ever. Astrid jumps down from the boulder and moves towards me. I'm watching toothless stork her as if she was part but a new game. She is right up in my face now. Her bright blue eyes consuming most of my vision. She parts her lips slightly.
"Well done in the arena today"
She says as Toothless sits down playfully silently, at attention, as if he has found his new favourite toy. It takes a second to take in her words.
"Did you just compliment me?"
I say as Sarcastically as possible, know she wasn't really. Toothless looked down at her. His tail flicks up. Ready. Waiting to strike.
"But no one improves that fast, not even you. So start talking."
Toothless eyes narrow as she lifts axe a bit showing me she expected an explanation. She was a beautifully terrifying when she was calm like this.
I wasn't sure if I should just tell her the truth or what I should lie.
Astrid stiffent. As if she's just heard the black dragon intake of breath. She is only half way turning around as Toothless smacks her with his tail.

"There was no need for that. ''
He slowly tills his head down towards Astrid. He causally nudges her. She doesn't respond to his touch. I scramble to the ground. Reaching for her hand. I place my fingers against the inner side of her wrist and waiting. I sigh as I feel her pulse vibrate agest my hand.  Getting up, I try to take in every detail and sketch it into my memory. The way the light made her golden hair glow. Her frame looked delicate but I knew that was not the case. She was strong. Even though she hates me, I love her and I know she will never return my feelings. it was ok, I could live with just knowing she would be safe and happy. I also knew in order to be active that I would need to go. I turn to Toothless
"She will be ok. It's probably for the best that you did that". He smiles in the way that he does, it is very cute.

"Come on, lets go"

I strap my belongings to him. I sit my self in Toothless' saddle.  I look down at Astrid. I can now see her chest rise and fall. The cove becomes blur as Toothless takes on but I managed keep her in focus knowing it will be the last time I will most likely see her. We fly further away till the ground is no longer clear. I look to horizon behind. At the fire light that show Berk, Looking back at the place I called home for 15 years for the last time.
