CHAPTER 10

"Tagal mong hindi nagpakita ah. Nilamon ka na ng showbiz."

I rolled my eyes. "I am in showbiz, asshole."

Jarvis maneuvered his horse to stop. Nasa dulo na kami ng trail and it gave us a beautiful elevated view of the club. One of the things I love doing here is horseback riding and playing polo with the guys.

"Buti naman at napadaan ka rito."

"I only have a month to take a rest. I might as well spend it here. Nakakapagod din mag-disguise para makalabas ng normal." One of the sacrifices of being in the industry. Sure it pays well but there are things you can't have.

There are places especially abroad where I don't need to disguise and stroll around without getting ambushed by fans. Dito sa Pinas at sa karatig na mga bansa, marami ang lumalapit sa akin para magpa-picture. I love my fans so much and I haven't forgotten that it is because of them that's why I'm here. It's difficult to ask for privacy when you're out in public.

"Is Asia with you then?"

"She'll be here in a few days. May mga inaayos lang daw siya."

Asia is also a member of the club. She followed suit after me. Minsan sabay kaming narito sa club pero minsan ay nasa ibang bansa ito. She may still be working on accepting the fact that her mother is marrying her off.

"Hindi ba talaga kayo in a relationship?"

I scoffed. "Kung hindi si Tabi, si Asia ang tinatanong niyo. I never liked Asia that way. We are colleagues off cam and on cam."

"She's pretty though."

"She is. Bakit ba iniintriga mo ako? Kaya nga ako nagpahinga rito para hindi ako ma-ambush ng interview."

"I'm just asking. And my brain needs refreshing things to think about."

"Bakit? Caught in a crossfire again?"

"I am working on a project and this woman just rejects my designs. Hindi ba niya alam na customized iyon at walang katulad? You know, I kept getting projects with her. Is this the universe punishing me?"

I tried to stop smiling to sympathize with Jarvis. As a world-renowned furniture designer, his ego must have hurt.

"Surprising...a woman who can resist your charms? Sa landi mong iyan?"

He was about to deny when he realized that what I said is right. "That's a first. She's a known man-hater so that probably explains it. Ang pinaka-ayaw niyang mga lalaki ay ang mga katulad kong...malandi."

"Dallas can be harsh if she wants to."

People in the club know how these two people can start a world war if they want to. In fact, ang bahay lang ni Jarvis and hindi dinesign ni Dallas mismo just because she hated him that much.

Dallas is the exclusive interior designer of Versailles. Sa nature ng trabaho ng dalawa, hindi talaga nakakapagtaka na madalas magka-trabaho ang mga ito. Their clients love their work despite the chaos that happens during the process.

"Wala naman akong ginagawa sa kanya." Tila nagsusumbong na sabi nito sa akin.

I cocked an eyebrow at him. "Wala ba talaga?"

"Well...I tried asking her out on a date once. I heard a certain Dallas being a man hater but I didn't think it was her! In my defence, how can that face be a monstrous woman?"
