My mind was whirling. I couldn't comprehend what had just happened. I wasn't going to lie, there had been a couple times, after I'd first met him, that I'd fantasized about him kissing me. None of those fantasies also included him threatening to murder me in great detail. Besides, said fantasies went away after a month or so.
I brought up my hand to my lips, running my fingertips over where our lips had met. I was still stunned. At least my vision was back to normal.
I'd never been scared like that in my entire life. Not even when I was getting beaten so badly I couldn't move. He hadn't even been acting; putting on some kind of show to flaunt how dangerous he could be. There was a legitimately murderous glint in his eye. He'd gone from nicely doing my hair to ready to murder me so quickly. I hadn't known that was possible. And then from murderous to kissing me. Now I understood why Mikey and Donna were so insistent he took his meds. Briefly, I wondered if he'd ever killed someone before. Then I realized there's no way they'd let him live at home after that.
I glanced at myself in the mirror. My hair looked damn good. My roots were growing in, but they were tinted purple, so it still looked pretty good.
Wow. It was so me to be worried about my hair after I just got significantly threatened then kissed by the guy I'd been living with for months. I looked outside, not recognizing where I was.
I looked at the clock discovered that I'd been driving for over an hour. How I'd completely overlooked so much time passing, I had no idea. I pulled out my phone and put it at eye level, so I could keep an eye on the road at the same time. Apparently I wasn't even in the right state anymore. Great. I turned off the highway and turned around, then got back on the highway, going the opposite direction.
I was starting to feel a little bit tired, and closed my eyes fro a few seconds when I heard a car honking at me. I went to see what I was doing wrong, but before I could, I heard metal smashing and then felt the most incredible pain. My vision left, and all I could hear was cars passing and creaking metal before I faded out completely.
All I could see was black.
No, that was a lie. I could also see red, orange and yellow highlights where the obnoxiously bright lights were screaming down onto my eyelids.
But that's not the point. They point is, who closed my eyes? And why? I couldn't open my eyes by myself. But, being my rebellious and extremely stubborn self, I tried anyways.
Holy shit. My eyes actually opened. Was I in control now? What was going on? I heard mutterings silencing and I saw a nurse coming over to check on me. She glanced at the machines then scurried off, presumably to bring my actual doctor over to stare at me and possibly poke. God. Whatever state I was in right now, I freaking hated it. Being fully awake was really the only thing I wanted.
Surely enough, my doctor was there soon. This time, instead of staring and poking she cleared her throat and asked in a very clear voice,
"Hi honey. Can you hear me? Blink if you can hear me." For a second I considered rebelliously staring at her, but then I realized that if she thought I was returning, they might change something. So, I summoned everything I had and tugged my eyes down and then open again. There was gasping and murmuring and she whispered something I couldn't understand in my ear. It didn't even sound like English.
This was definitely the longest I'd been fully aware. And there was no sign of any kind of tug on my mind, the horrible thing that pulled me back into emptiness. Was I finally waking up from whatever this was?
***Donna's POV***
None of us had seen Skye for two days now. And Gerard was refusing to do anything but sit in angry silence and eat. So, it wasn't difficult to assume that he'd done something irrational and stupid, and she'd run away.
I absentmindedly stirred the noodles I was making for tonight's dinner when my phone started buzzing against the table in the next room. Probably Sara. Her new daughter was being difficult and she often consulted me for help. But when I looked at the caller ID, it wasn't Sara. It was Skye. I quickly answered and immediately started talking,
"Skye it's so wonderful to hear from you. We're all worried. Even Gerard. I don't know what he did but we want you back. You're a part of the family now. You can't just desert family. It's rude. Where have you been? I was so wo-"
"Ma'am, I'm sorry, but this isn't Skye."
"Who are you? Why do you have my girl's phone?"
"I'm a doctor at NorthWest General Hospital. Your daughter, Skye, arrived here a few days ago. She was in a very bad car crash."
"Oh my god. She didn't-?"
"No. She survived."
"Oh. How is she?"
"Comatose."

Hey guys. Sorry this was short, but I needed that cliffhanger. Again, seriously any new titles are welcome, so. Pleeeeeeeease? I'm currently unable of thinking of anything, apparently. Which sucks. But hey, at least I can still write! Welp, that's all for now. Love you, thanks for reading!
