I wasn't particularly excited for graduation. School hadn't been a part of my life very much, so it was more like freeing up part of my day than it was leaving behind an entire part of my life. Nevertheless, I put more effort than usual into my makeup. just because it was still a big event in my life. I'd almost asked Gerard and Donna if they were gonna be there before I remembered that Mikey was also graduating this year. I felt pretty stupid for a few minutes. Graduation didn't start until 11, so I had time to just hang around for awhile. Gerard was at therapy and Mikey had friends over, so I was left without anyone to talk to. I tried to watch TV, but got annoyed at the simplicity of characters too quickly. Ultimately, I ended up blasting music through the speakers (hopefully annoying someone) and reading Gerard's comics.
It only took a few minutes for one of Mikey's friends, I think his name was Bob, to yell at me to turn down the music. Being me, I turned down the music one notch and yelled back,
"I did!"
This ended in Mikey storming in ten minutes later and unplugging the speakers. I then settled for my earbuds and continued my reading.

I had been pretty happy all day, alone with just music and comics, but then Gerard pulled out one of my earbuds and informed me that it was 10:30, so we had to leave. There was a lot of irritated groaning as I grabbed my cap and gown and headed down to the car, not wanting to leave at all.
On the plus side, the teachers had only boycotted me for a few days, so it wasn't like they were going to skip over me. I still wasn't entirely sure what had happened to get the staff to ignore me. My best guess is that there was some kind of rumor going around. Maybe everyone just thought that I had rabies or something. Although, a more likely one is that I screwed someone awful.Regardless, I'd be escaping from high school bullshit permanently today. I pulled the robe on in the car and, with struggle, resisted to urge to hold Gerard's hand. Mikey and Donna were quietly chatting about something in the front seats, and Gerard and I were sitting in the back being awkwardly and strangely quiet. Just to relieve the awkwardness, I muttered,
"Your comics are really good."
"Obviously. If they weren't I wouldn't write them."
"Most people say thanks when they're complimented."
"Sorry. I had an extremely stressful day."
" Would it be safe for me to assume that therapy went badly?"
"Very safe."
"Want to talk about it?" Something in-between a snort and a chuckle came from him. Maybe a snuckle.
"God, no." I didn't bother responding. It had been made crystal clear that he didn't really want to talk at all and I had to respect that. Thankfully, the ride was short, so the silence wasn't for long. I let myself slip into the back of my head as multiple people came and told me what to do and where to go. I knew that this was going to be a long and boring procedure that I really didn't care about. I only had one part to do, and I was fairly sure that walking and accepting apiece of paper wouldn't require my entire concentration.

Graduating didn't take quite as long as I had thought it would, and I ended up deciding to drop by the mall to occupy the rest of my day. My relationship with shopping wasn't always hatred, just when i was pushed into shopping, and had to speak to other people. If I got to shop by myself when I actually wanted to, I really liked shopping. I decided to save best for last, and not go to Hot Topic until I was pretty much ready to go home.
It only took me a few hours to really start being negatively affected by the crowds, so I made my way to Hot Topic, planning to just grab a few shirts, maybe a dress or two. I ended up with three dresses, four shirts and two pairs of leggings. As I headed to the cashier, I wondered how I had managed to get so off course. It must have been the clothes fault, so I just glared at them.
