CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

When I pull up outside of her place, I don't even lock my car. I'm up and out running out and barging my way into her parent's place without even knocking.

"Ori," Sarah rushes out from the living room.
"No, it's just me. Have you heard anything? Alex just called he said there's no sign of her."
She's shaking her head as tears filled her eyes.
"Oh god. Kaiden I'm freaking out. Carter says he checked in with her at about eleven o'clock this morning. Then he checked in again, about an hour later. She was nowhere to be found. I've called most of her contacts, but nobody's seen her."
My phone vibrates again in my pocket, and I quickly pull it out. It's my dad.
"Hey, son. Is she there? Is she back?"
I'm shaking my head even though he can't see me.
"No, she's not here. I'm scared Dad, what if, if. Shit. Dad, what if something bad has happened?"

"She'll be fine, Kaid. Ori's a tough cookie, and you'd said it yourself, remember? Remember when you said she's a good fighter? Plus, I bet she's just gone for her hair done or something. Oh, wait... Your, Mums here now."
I hear her say something, and then my Dad, speaks again. He's talking to her this time.
"It's Kaid, Ori's gone missing. Nobody knows where she is."
Then I hear my Mum say something about the studio.
"What was that? What did she say, Dad?" I ask, feeling a little ray of hope flow over me, especially with what he says.
"She said she came into the studio today. Something about a placement there and wanting your mum to help her."
"When was this, dad? What time did she show up?" Sarah rushed over and stood by my side, obviously wanting to hear.

"Kaid..."
"Mum, when did you see her?"
"She walked in at about twelve-ish. She wanted a spot at the studio because she was sick of waiting for college. So she thought she'd get a head start."

"When did she leave? Did she say where she was going?" I ask. Shit, we're wasting time here! Seriously, my body's itching to get out of here to look for her.

"No. Well, all she said was she's going back home before Carter finds out she's gone. I'd asked if she wanted a lift back but she'd said she wanted some fresh air. So I'm guessing she walked back maybe?"

"Mum, what time did she leave?"
She goes silent for a bit probably thinking about it.
"She only stayed there for about an hour or two, getting a feel for the place."
Shit, anything could have happened to her she's been missing for a good few hours now.

"Okay, I'm going out to look for her. Sarah, can you think of any places she'd go apart from the beach and the park? Oh, I'll try the Ice, cream place too that's where I normally find her."
Sarah's thinking about it, but I think she's too panicked stricken to answer me. She seems to struggle to even think.

"Oh, the gym she might have popped in there? I mean, she's not been in for a while but you never know." I tell her to call Scott, to see if she's been in. I also tell her to call the twins, too.
She might be with them. Just as I say this Alex storms through the door.

"Any word?" He asked with a shitload of worry etched on his face, mirroring mine and Sarah's. We both shake our heads but I'm telling him she'd gone to the studio and why she was there.

"Fuck! Where's Orin?" He asked Sarah, and she tells him he's in his room.
"I didn't want to alarm him, so he doesn't even know yet. I'm just glad Darren is at the respite because he'd panic."
"Okay, well, I'll call the police. I know it's still early, but you never know, they may have her."

"What? Why would they have her though?" Sarah asked a little panicked.
"I... Shit. I don't know Tink. I'm just hoping they do I'd rather her be there than anywhere else."

Tears fill her eyes again so he pulls her close, holding her while she breaks. All the while feeling anxious just wanting to get out of here and look for her. So I do I turn round and head straight out of the door.
