Monster Squad was officially published in 1987. It's a very simple movie. It's not really horror but people consider it as such. In my opinion, it's a very good Halloween movie to watch with family.

Five youngsters find themselves up against the combined might of Dracula, the Mummy, the Gill Man and Frankenstein's Monster who arrive in town in search of a magic amulet.
The movie goes into more detail but there's google's explanation. There's no gore, so if you like these sorts of things check it out. Try to go to a local movie store and rent them for cheap. Most of the time movies are cheaper there than online, such as Amazon prime and what not.
