Chapter 18
(Will you be mine?)
Ryder's pov
I was so excited once I was done with work. I hurried home to shower and get dressed before going to get Hannah. Once I was done I texted Hannah saying I was on my way. This was going to be the best night ever. I had to admit I'm a little nervous because this was mine and Hanna's first official date. Once I pulled up to her house she got in the car since she was outside waiting for me.
"Wow you look great Hannah."
"Um thanks trying out a new look. So um Ryder we need to talk."
"Yes we do but let's wait until we get something to eat. We can talk at the restaurant. I have a surprise for you."
"Ok."
The car ride over to the restaurant was really quit. She seemed kind of nervous almost like she was somewhere else. I wonder what was going on in that pretty little head of hers. Before I could ask her what was wrong we arrived at the restaurant. She seemed to smile once she saw where we were at.
"Oh wow Ryder this is like my favorite place to eat. You didn't have to go through all this trouble just for us to talk."
"Hey your my bestie your worth it."
"Thanks"
She put her head down like she was sad about something I really needed to find out what was going on with her.
Hannah's pov
I can't believe he took me here to my favorite place. There is no way he was having second thoughts. I looked around and saw that we were alone rose petals was all over the floor. And there was one table with candles lite I knew that was just for us. He went through a lot of trouble to make this night perfect it looked like. How could I break his heart? He was the only person that knew me so well. He knew that I was a sucker for this kind of thing. He was in every way the perfect guy for me. When I was down he always knew what to do to cheer me up. He always seemed to be there when I needed him the most. I looked over at Ryder and for the first time I took a good look at him. Then it hit me I was in love with my best friend. He is who I wanted not Luke. I needed to tell him how I felt.
"Ryder all of this is amazing I can't believe you did all of this for me."
"Why wouldn't I do this? You deserve to be romanced."
"I need to tell you something Ryder and please don't get mad just let me finish."
"Ok."
"I felt like last night was a mistake after I woke up and saw you gone I thought you felt the same way."
"I had to leave you I was called to work. It was far from a mistake."
"Please let me finish. I was so hurt that night when Luke broke up with me that I turned to you. I threw myself at you to feel better."
"Wow way to hurt a man so all I was is a replacement for the guy you truly want?"
"Let me finish."
"I went to school today and saw Luke he looked really bad. He told me he was sorry that he was going through a lot and took it out on me. He told me he loved me. No man has ever been in love with me so I forgave him and told him I would take him back."
"See that's where you're wrong and clueless I have always been in love with you. Well you made your choice so I will leave you to it. Have a nice life Hannah but as of right now stay the fuck out of mines you have hurt me for the last time."
"Ryder wait please let me explain."
"NO need to goodbye Hannah."
He walked out the door he wouldn't listen to me. He took my heart with him. What did I do? I lost not only the man I love but my best friend as well. What was I going to do now?
