dinner

the night passed and the next day came, both vienna and artem starting to regret inviting the others over. it was almost noon and vienna laid in bed with her hand on her boyfriends chest, feeling his heartbeat and listening to his breathing.

"you ok, vi?" artem asked, noticing she was too quiet.

she nodded and felt him squeeze her waist in his own way of comfort. the dark haired girl stayed silent to continue letting the two of them continue in their own train of thoughts, remaining unbothered.

"its 11:50, we have to get up."

vienna let out a loud groan and she tried rolling away from him to just get pulled back. she looked up and artem just smiled and sat up, pulling her along.

"i dont wanna." she sighed and peppered kisses along his neck.

he just let out a breathy chuckle and pushed her off, standing up and dragging her to her feet. instead of standing up straight she just slumped and put her head on his chest, his arms wrapping around her to keep her up.

"your brother is gonna be here in like what.. 2 hours?"

that woke her up. vienna stood up straight and walked away from the man, pulling her clothes from the closet and walking to the washroom. she heard artem shuffling around in the room, probably getting changed. she changed into a suit, slipping on a necklace or two along with a bracelet and rings.

she left the washroom and artem just smiled at the sight of his girlfriend, taking a step closer to her and cupping her face in his hands. she looked to the side and he just laughed.

"you're still nervous? vi.. we've been dating for months now."

she scoffed and looked into his piercing blue eyes, feeling her knees grow weak just at the way he looked at her. cold metal brushed against her cheek and she leaned into that hand.

"can you start the food while i finish getting ready?" vienna asked.

artem nodded and left her to do whatever she needed to do. she walked over to her desk where her makeup as as well, starting immediately so she could go help him.

he knew the way around her kitchen and got everything started up pretty fast. he knew the womans kitchen than she did even. his music played in the kitchen quietly, just loud enough for vienna to barely hear it in her room.

her head was buried in her hands as her fingers gripped her hair, nearly pulling it out. she looked up into the mirror and saw herself with the salty tears falling down her face as her hair was fucked up already. the words she had heard over and over through her childhood came back. suck it up.

"vi, you ok in there?" artem shouted.

she was taking longer than usual and she cleared her throat to call back. her makeup was untouched somehow and all she had to do was wipe off the tears and she was fine again.

"yeah, one sec!"

her hand gripped the hairbrush and she brought it back to normal, falling back into its straighter form. she stood up and walked out of the room, pushing the thoughts from her mind. while she was alone she thought of the things recently sent to her, knowing that they would have to be accepted. how could she leave?

"sorry, i just got distracted." vienna smiled and went to his side.

artem brushed it off and started up a new conversation with the woman to pass some time as they waited for different things to finish. the tables were already set and ready for the guests to arrive in the next 5 minutes. the food was pulled from the oven and sat in the middle of the table. the couple waited for their guests to show up and vienna found herself in the mans arms once more.
