please just go home

why?
why does life take people from us?
why do we put up with it?
why not fight back?
the von hagens had put up with the oldest childs disappearance for long enough, making it seem as if marius and vienna were the only ones who cared. vienna was throwing away her whole life to look for him. her regrets flew through her thoughts as she laid in bed.

"vienna?" the voice echoed.

the voice called out to her many more times as she laid there, her hand lifted above her body as she stared at it.

"vienna!"

she jumped up and turned to artem with a shocked face. he had noticed the way she had been off lately but hadnt said anything of it until just now.

"are you alright?" he asked and hesitantly touched her face.

vienna moved back and escaped his touch, making a hurt look flash through his eyes. she felt bad for hurting him but couldnt care anymore.

"artem, please go home."

"what? no, vienna."

"please! just go home!" she shouted.

artems blue eyes widened and only hurt could be seen in them. they lowered and he nodded, standing and leaving her. she buried her head in her hands while thinking of the future events that she would have to go through alone. marius would continue living his life the same as he had a few months ago, normal just without his older sister. days had passed on and vienna had tried to make it last but with only about 4 days left there was no use.

artem drove back to his house in the light rain that fell, the man sitting in silence. he never sat in silence. he would always listen to one of her playlists or listen to vienna herself, her laughter, her voice, anything.
why?
why was she acting this way?
why did she seem so cold?
why was she acting like how the world portrays her?
why didnt she love him anymore?

eloise had agreed with artem that vienna had seemed off while marius did not. it seemed as if she was avoiding vyn completely. vienna spent her time hanging out with artem and eloise or riding either a horse or a motorcycle to release stress. a call came through artems phone and he accepted it through the vehicles screen.

"what, eloise?"

"is vienna home? i wanted to talk to her."

"she is but she just kicked me out so.. maybe hold off."

it went silent from the other side, eloise seemingly taking in what he had just said.

"she.. what?"

"yep."

he laughed dryly, shoving away the anger but also sadness he was feeling. eloise sat in her chair with her lip quivering. in the years she had known vienna, she never really did this. her brother disappearing was the only time eloise ever actually saw her remotely close to this state.

"alright uh.. ill see you sometime soon. bye artem, let me know if she does anything actually good." eloise said before hanging up.

tears fell down her face and sasha just gave her a pat on the back, knowing her best friends actions were affecting her deeply.

vienna walked out of her room and over to a room that she always had locked, unlocking it and stepping inside. her suitcase sat there in the middle of the now completely empty room. each and every little crumb had been cleaned from that room. she knew that if artem and her friends went to look for her when she left, they would find the room. paper was pulled from a nearby desk and she wrote a quick note to artem as the others already were made one.
