13: Explanations

I want to go back to Itachi but I don't know how to get there. I sat down and put my head in my knees. I looked up to the sky then screamed to get out my frustration. I lied on my back with my legs stretched out and my arms by my side like I was in the hospital.

"I want to go back to Itachi now!" I yelled into the sky. "Please!! I want to go back to him!"

When nothing happened I closed my eyes and let a tear slip from my eye. Please just let me go to him. I love him.

It was then I felt like I was lying on waves. A bright light burned through my eyelids and when I opened my eyes there was a white ceiling above me.

I gasped and looked around me. There were machines all around me keeping track of my pulse and everything. I looked over to my left and saw Itachi asleep as he held my hand. I didn't want to wake him but I squeezed his hand.

He woke and looked around trying to process everything. I smiled at him and he was still trying to process. It was then his eyes widened and tears started to come from his eyes.

"You're alive..." he whispered.

He got up and hugged me. I hugged him back with tears starting to come from my eyes.

"I thought you wouldn't make it," he whispered into my ear then kissed under it.

"I didn't think I would either but I did. I love you too Itachi," I whispered back to him.

He let me go and he had a look of shock on his face.

"I thought the girlfriend was supposed to say it first?" I asked him smiling.

He chuckled still crying and hugged me again.

"Miyako!" A voice yelled.

We broke apart to see Akane and Leon in the doorway with the other Akatsuki members. I smiled at them and Akane ran to me. She grabbed me in a tight hug almost strangling me.

"I thought you were gone but you aren't and now you're back and now..."

I shushed her as tears streamed down her face.

"It's all right Akane, I'm here now. I'm still here..." I said stroking her hair.

"It's good to have you back Miyako!" Leon said ruffling my now chin-length hair.

It was then Nagato came back with an annoyed looking black haired nurse. She gasped at me and I smiled. She smiled back then ran out of the room. She came back in a few minutes with a doctor who I recognized in an instant.

"Itoko, I missed you..." I said to her smiling.

Tsunade smiled at me as she shook her head with tears in her eyes.

"Glad to see you pulled through Miya," she said using my nickname.

I nodded to her then she shooed everyone out of the room. She pulled over the curtains and checked over me.

"Do you know why you're here?" She asked.

I sighed.

"I tried to save a little girl from a burning building. By the feel of it my legs are still broken and I went into a coma by being smacked by a burning board that fell on my head. I have a slight concussion which explains my lack of alertness right now and my hair got burn from the fire. Does that sum it up?" I asked her.

"You haven't lost your touch," Tsunade said smiling at me.

I nodded to her and she hugged me.

We talked while she went through the familiar motions of a check up on me. It was nice to see her after all these years. Finally the checkup was done and she left to look after other patients. Everyone came back in.
